*SEASON 25/26 IS OVER*

With the culmination of our 25/26 season taking us to Toca Social in Birmingham for footy fun, and the players presentations, we can now turn our attention towards 26/27!

A 'top' couple of hours sharp ⚽️🎯shooting in the Toca booths was followed by the awards🏆, and.....of course, 'feeding them all'.

Our congratulations👏go to the team 'role of honour', with the awards, presented with special assistance from Harrison's older brother, Freddie....thanks mate (hope the Haribos went down well?):-

Most Improved - Ellis Warnett
Parents - Ted Jenkins
Coaches - Harrison Adams
Players Player - Joe Robb

Sonny, although not a fully fledged team member, joined us to rebuild his confidence, following a bad experience at another team!

We also made special mention for Ted Jenkins, to give him a 'GOOD LUCK' send off, as he departs the team to further his footballing journey with Birmingham City - we will miss you Ted🥲! Thanks too, go to Helen & Craig, Ted's Mum n' Dad for all of their input, help and unwavering support for both Ted, and the team.

That goes to all of you - our 'Rangers Family', a massive THANKS, for what has been a real pleasure this year.....the continued trust and backing that Ron and I get is hugely appreciated.

The road ahead for continued team and player development awaits......

Enjoy the week break 🌞, ready for the restart on June 1st.....⚽️ much to do and sort 💪

The end of season 25/26 draws near, and our penultimate round of fixtures saw 2 keenly contested matches played out...

The progress in the boys is truly apparent, and whilst there is mileage for all still to do, it is extremely heartening, and gives cause for much optimism for next season.

Clear to see, that players are beginning to recognise the benefits of scanning.....seeing the picture, giving themselves more time for decision making.
Passing, and interplay, constantly on the up and up, better movement, increased confidence and improved decision making dealing with high balls, and tricky defensive situations!

Today underlined most of these factors, and I find myself excited as we head into the summer tournaments, and towards the 26/27 season. Another year of 5 aside, but one for us to cement our development further, and hopefully show ourselves as a team to contend with.

Easter over, chocolate done, and back into the action.....
We returned to it for the Spring Cup. To date, we have had no joy in the cups, missing out in all 3 previous tournaments, twice on penalties......and it was to be the same again for us today! Losing on the dreaded shootout 🤦👎
It was real tough on us this time though, as I thought we absolutely ran it, played some fantastic football, scoring some amazing team goals through great interplay and moves.
The boys worked their first via the right flank through Harrison, who delivered to George, who calmly controlled it and then fired home....the second, down to quick thinking from Ted, with a swift restart, and shot, which although deflected, was probably heading for top right corner but ended up wrong footing their keeper, for 2-0!
Despite having the strong wind with us, we played tidy football, without relying on it, but knew we had to watch out in the second period, and it proved so......
A terrific start to the second half though, and the goal of the match, I'd say - a slick routine from the kick off from Joe, played out to Reggie, who tore down his wing, returning the ball to Joe.....who, meeting it first time beautifully sent it into the back of the empty net, 3-0.
Then, regrettably, a bit of hesitancy and confusion at the back and they were in for 1 back.
We still looked in control though, and a 4th seemed likely, but for 2 out of nowhere longshots - great hits to be fair, which flew past Ellis in our goal.
Goal 4 did arrive though, and again, from good pressure, dispossessing the opposition defenders, a quick interchange between Reggie and Joe once again, and Joe couldn't miss. It looked like we had saved it, and there seemed to be next to no time left, but sadly there was.....
Another bolt from the wind that blew 🌬4-4, and penalties it was.
Painful, but the boys stepped up and took their shots, but 4-2 and our cup journey for this season was over again.
Proud of the football they played though, and outcome aside, they showed just what a tidy team they are.
Unlucky lads.....but your progress is clear to see.

Easter Time has arrived......an 'egg'stremely satisfying spell for us since Christmas, with some great showings from the boys, as they continue to progress handsomely as a group, playing some tremendous stuff at times.
So, it's a fortnight break from competetive matches, but training continues throughout the hols and all being well we can line up a friendly before we head back into competition again on the 12th April.

EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!

It's a huge congratulations to one of our players,Ted, who has been picked up by Birmingham City.....as goalkeeper, having played there for us earlier in the season, then sharing the gloves with our now permanent No.1, Ellis.......
Ted was scouted, has had a successful trial with them, and has signed a pre-contract agreement to, both, represent their U8 team and join the academy.
Well done Ted 👏 we are very proud 😃, and lets remember, he's come from, and is a product of the Stafford Soccer School 💪⚽️ James Nation
