While our 11-a-side campaign is already underway, did you know that Stafford Rangers Women also have a 7-a-side team competing this season? 👀🖤🤍💛

And tonight, the 7s league campaign gets underway! 🔥

7-a-side football brings a different challenge to the game, with a smaller pitch, fewer players and shorter halves, creating a faster-paced and often more technical style of football where quick passing, movement and decision-making are key. ⚡️

Tonight marks the start of a new chapter for our 7s side, and we can’t wait to see the team take to the pitch! 💪

Stafford Rangers Women are delighted to announce the signing of Sophie Ellis! 🖤🤍

📍 Position: Defender

After taking a break from football to play basketball at a high level for a number of years, Sophie is now back on the football pitch and ready for a new chapter with Stafford Rangers Women.

A versatile defender who is comfortable playing in a variety of positions, Sophie brings strength, tactical awareness and technical ability to the squad.

“Sophie has already impressed me with her solid positional awareness and good strength in the tackle. As a core central defender for us coming into the season, I’m expecting to see really good growth in her overall game, as she gets more opportunities in training and exposure overall to the competition at D1 level.”

✍️ NEW SIGNING | MEGAN RATCLIFFE

Stafford Rangers Women are delighted to announce the signing of Megan Ratcliffe! 🖤🤍💛

📍 Position: Goalkeeper

A familiar face around Stafford Rangers, Megan takes on a new role with the Women’s first team as our Reserve Goalkeeper. 🧤

Megan has already played an important role around the club, with many of her responsibilities centred around her passion for accessibility and making football more inclusive.

Having previously played at youth level, Megan later turned her attention to playing in goal in other sports before finding her way back to football. She now joins our goalkeeper group with the aim of developing her skills and confidence between the posts, while continuing to build her strength, technical ability and fitness.

“Adding to all the other amazing things Megan does for Stafford Rangers and the Ladies’ first team in particular, she joins our talented team as our reserve Goalkeeper. Her bravery, energy, and overall positivity is a tremendous asset to our GK group, supporting Sophia, and the team as a whole in training, during the week, and on game days. While supporting Soph as our No.1 GK is her priority, if called upon, I know Megan will do a sterling job for us in relief.”

Our next match, which was due to take place this Sunday against Stone Old Alleynians, has unfortunately been postponed.

Although we won’t be taking to the pitch this weekend, the work doesn’t stop! 💪⚽ The team will continue to train hard and prepare for our next fixture.
