Starting somewhere new can feel like the hardest part, not because of the training itself, but because you don’t quite know what to expect.
Most people imagine they’ll be thrown straight into a session, expected to keep up, and left to figure things out as they go. In reality, most people just need a bit of time to settle in, understand how things work, and build some confidence.
That’s why the early stages matter so much - A chance to get to know someone properly, understand how they move, what they’ve done before, and what they’re comfortable with, tends to make everything feel far more manageable.
From there, things usually start to feel more natural. Movements become more familiar, confidence improves, and the nerves that people often arrive with begin to settle down.
Most people leave those first few sessions relieved, not because they were easy, but because they realise they’re capable of more than they thought.
And that’s often the point where things start to click.
