😎 Another lovely morning for our 376th event today. A bit of wind but the sun shone brightly in The Dell this morning.

📍We had tourists from Littlehampton, Wi******er, Sheffield, Droitwich, Sutton and more today. And congratulations to Tula Skidmore on achieving your 50th parkrun 👏👏👏

📈This week 241 people ran, jogged and walked Dudley parkrun. You can see the full results on our website - the strongest age grade finishers today were:

Dean Hill 75.90%
Ava Foster 75.02%
Luke Vine 71.92%
Helen Jones 71.65%

🏃🏼🏃🏿Today 44 of you were first timers and 12 people were running their first ever parkrun (we hope to see you again soon!) 31 parkrunners recorded new Personal Bests and representatives of 20 different clubs took part.

Dudley parkrun started on 7th January 2017. Since then 14,155 participants have completed 80,563 parkruns covering a total distance of 402,815 km, including 13,247 new Personal Bests. A total of 1,442 individuals have volunteered 11,519 times.

We need marshalls particularly but it would be great if you could support us in any of the vacant roles. Please drop us a message if you think you can help out tomorrow.

🥳🥳🥳 parkrun is celebrating its one millionth event this weekend since it started back in 2004 at Bushy Park.

Here at Dudley this weekend we'll have had 376 installments of parkrun since we started nearly ten years ago back in January 2017.

Whether you joined us for the first time in 2017 or in 2026 we look forward to seeing you this weekend.

👋🌄 Morning all. It's the start of another week and we've already got our eyes set on next Saturday morning.

When it comes to our volunteer roster, things were getting a wee bit tight last Friday, so it would be great to be in a healthier position this week. We have plenty of different roles you can try from scanning to marshalling and from timekeeping to giving out tokens.

If you'd like to help out this week (or any of the following weeks), just leave us a comment here. And if you've not tried it before and would like to give volunteering a go for the first time, let us know. We'll show you the ropes - and it's great fun too 😊.

Dudley Parkrun #375

Ok so the weather wasn't exactly playing ball this morning but that didn't stop the 210 hardy runners and walkers from lacing up their trainers and hitting the track. If you were one of them then well done, it was great to see you!

Our last minute plea for help worked a bit too well so we had loads of volunteers, each one making sure the event ran smoothly and supporting the participants. I had several comments from tourists today who said what a great event it was and how much they enjoyed it. They said the support was fantastic, so a big thank you to you all 👏

Our tourists this week were from Abergele, Worcester, Birmingham, Northwich, Chasewater and Braintree. There were no running milestones but Joseph Janjua volunteered for the 150th time today! 🥳

No sugar-coating it guys, our roster looks terrible for the weekend.

We still need:

at least 8 marshals
2 timekeepers
2 on finish tokens
1 barcode scanner
If we can't fill these spots, bottom line is we will not be holding our event this week,

For the past few months we seems to have relied very heavily on the same small team of regular volunteers who come every week whatever the weather to help out for which we are extremely grateful - the flip side to this is that the vast majority of runners here at Dudley very rarely or never choose to give back and help out.

Please bear in mind parkrun relies on the goodwill of volunteers to go ahead. If you've not volunteered in a while or never volunteered please consider helping us out this week. Comment below or drop us an email at [email protected]

Happy Global Running Day Parkrunners! 🥳

For those of you who don't know, Parkrun reached a bit of a milestone last weekend. Darren Wood from South London became the first person in the world to reach 1000 parkruns and earn the mythical yellow t shirt. That works out to 5000k over 22years!

He started doing Parkrun in 2004 and what makes his achievement even more impressive is that he's clocked up 400 volunteer credits along the way! A true Parkrun ambassador 🤩

So whether you're just starting out on your Parkrun journey or are a seasoned regular, come and join us this weekend at Dudley, we'd love to see you ❤️
