On Bank Holiday Monday we had 5 athletes that were selected to represent Cumbria in Shildon in the U16 & U18 Inter County Club competition.
All the athletes did fantastic for the team with 5 pbs from 12 events.

The second Upper YDL of the season saw 3 athletes selected to represent Team North Cumbria in Leigh. Injuries were still affected all the clubs in TNC due to this the team finished 8th overall on the day.
Our athletes gained 1 personal best from 6 events and breaking 4 Team North Cumbria records.

The second Mid Lancs League competition of the season involved our athletes travelling down to Salt Ayre Track in Lancaster.

Out of the 17 events there was 7 personal bests and 6 new club records.

For the second year in a row our Sprinters put in dominant performances in the County Championships with them bringing back 10 out of 11 possible Gold medals in the sprints.

Out of 31 events we had a number of top performances including 9 personal bests and 8 Club records.

We hosted the first Lower YDL of the season at the Sheepmount.
4 of our athletes were selected to represent Team North Cumbria.
The Team finished 2nd overall on the day πŸ₯ˆ

We hosted the first Cumbria League of the season at the end of April at the Sheepmount.

13 of the club's athletes competed at the competition.

Through out the winter months we had 4 athletes compete in the Cumbria Cross Country League.

Jesse Smith won the under 9 category overall thanks to his 2 wins and 3 second places in the 5 competitions.

Jesse also qualified for the English Schools Cross Country competition which took place at Stoneleigh Jesse finished 13th on the day in the year 4 category which is a fantastic achievement!

πŸ†πŸ† Scottish Athletics U20, U16 & U14 Indoor Championships πŸ†πŸ†

The club had 3 athletes travel up to Glasgow to compete in the Scottish U20, U16 & U14 Indoor Championships.

Day 2
Harry Cattermole started the day in the U16 Boys 60m heats, finishing 3rd in a pb time of 7.94 to qualify for the semi finals. Later on in the semi Harry ran another pb of 7.92 to finish 12th overall.
Later on in the 200m heats Harry came 2nd with a pb of 25.21 to qualify for the semi final. In the semi he again ran 25.21 to finish 7th overall.

Fergus Horner stepped up an age group to compete in the U20 Mens 60m. Fergus finished 5th in the heats with a pb of 7.54 to finish 14th overall.

Daniel Cattermole also ran in the 60m. Running 7.07 in the heats and qualify in first for the final. In the final Daniel became the first person in the clubs history to run sub 7 seconds for 60m, placing in 15th in the UK with a time of 6.97 and finishing 3rd overall πŸ₯‰

Day 3

Daniel was back on Day 3 for the U20 Mens 200m, he finished 1st overall in the heats with a pb of 22.58.
In the semi, Daniel safely qualified for the final by winning his race with 22.91.
In the final Daniel finished 3rd with a time of 22.59 to gain his 2nd Bronze of the Championships πŸ₯‰
