Where do we even begin...

It’s been incredibly difficult to hear about the recent challenges our JJ is facing. Though he may no longer officially be a Steelman, in our hearts, he’ll always be one of us.

As a coach, it’s impossible not to form strong emotional connections with the kids you train. They become like an extended part of your family. You witness their ups and downs, share in their victories, and you become (unconsciously) an important part of their journey into adulthood. Their families become friends and this news cuts deep.

JJ came to us a year younger than his peers, but with immense talent and a heart full of kindness. He’s always been the first to say thank you, always showed up no matter what. He chased his dream when Swansea picked him up, showing such determination and promise for someone so young. His achievements were nothing short of amazing.

For those who may not know, JJ is now facing an unimaginable battle with kidney failure, and he has a long and challenging road to recovery ahead.

All of us, coaches, players, and parents here at Newport are sending our deepest well wishes and unwavering support to JJ and his family.

Please join us in partnership with Liswerry Lizards, in ‘JJ’s Fundraiser,’ as we rally together for his road to recovery and to support his parents during this challenging period.

Our under 7s receiving their fit bit watches last night , great to see all the children get them on!

Used as ‘walkie talkies’ most of the time to pass secret messages in training, the players loved them.

Our under 9s recently received a kind donation of fit bit watches, they were really excited to receive them and try them out.

After a really generous donation, we are selling a small quantity of nutribullet 1000 series units and fit bit watches!

£30 a watch
£60 a nutribullet

All proceeds go directly into the minis to help buy sports equipment!

Newport City is a fully inclusive club and have taken on new players to the sport this season, we still have availability to take one more player before the 2024/25 starts!

Does your son/daughter currently participate in local football with the likes of little kickers, pro football academy or similar and seeking to be part of a local football team? Or are you simply struggling with current travel arrangements and are looking for something abit closer to home?

We are looking for one more football loving and eager to learn player to join our team!

Congratulations on all your achievements U6s, wrapped up in an afternoon of fun and games during this years presentation.

Today the spot light is on our talented Under 8s section!

The team recently travelled to Rodney Parade, home of Newport County to participate in a mini tournament organised by Newport Junior Football League.

Well done to all the players and as you can tell, they were clearly chuffed to be involved in the event!

Newport City Under 6s!

It’s been a blast!

Thank you for to all of our coaches, parents and most of all our players for a fantastic season full of memories.

Thanks to our friends over at GVD and Panteg for plenty of off season playing opportunities too.

A big thanks to Glan Llyn School for supporting local children in providing a suitable and stable playing facility.

We roll into our presentation tomorrow full of pride and with a sense of accomplishment coming so far in our development!

Lots of trophies and raffle prizes also up for grabs! Big thanks to the Llanwern Bull on their continuous support to the local community in providing us a great venue for presentations!

We will be opening a few additional spaces for new players in the very near future, so please DM us to join our waiting list.
