Harvesters Men 6 - 2 Hemel Hempstead Rovers

The lads started the game in top gear, motoring to a three goal lead in the first quarter. It looked like a cricket score was on the cards, but the game settled as both sides contended with the heat and sun-baked pitch.

They battled well, gave a very good account of themselves in their first competitive game as a team and saw off the opposition with three more goals.

Great start to the season!

We recommend players bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Players should also come equipped with Astroturf boots (not blades) and adequate full size shin guards.

"From the start of the 2026/27 season, a referee at a grassroots match in England can stop the game, send both teams to their penalty areas and call the coaches and captains into the centre circle — and they can do it twice.

If a third stop is needed, the match is abandoned. The FA calls them "cooling-off periods", and after a County FA pilot they are now rolling out nationally."
