Spalding Lankans Secure Their Biggest Win of the Season
After winning the toss on a grass pitch at Aylesbury Town CC, skipper elected to bat first. Openers Eranda and Charith gave Spalding Lankans a fantastic start, putting together an 85 run partnership for the first wicket.
Charith looked set for a half-century but was unfortunately dismissed just three runs short of the milestone. The former captain then joined Eranda at the crease, and together they kept the innings moving smoothly.
Eranda continued his fine form and scored his first half-century of the season for Spalding Lankans, eventually departing for a well deserved 59 runs. Thilina then came to the crease and played an explosive knock of 32 runs from just 23 balls before being bowled while attempting another big shot.
Thilan anchored the innings brilliantly from one end, ensuring the team maintained momentum throughout. Contributions came from all the batters, and the skipper provided the finishing touches with a powerful 43 runs from just 18 balls. Thilan was finally dismissed with only two balls remaining in the innings.
Spalding Lankans finished on an impressive 321 for 9 from their allotted overs.
In reply, Eranda and Charith opened the bowling and struck early with crucial wickets. Kelum then ripped through the Kingsbrook batting line-up with a superb spell, putting the opposition under immense pressure.
Kingsbrook were eventually bowled out for 137, giving Spalding Lankans a commanding 184 run victory their biggest win of the season.
