We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer and is looking forward to another exciting season with Spalding United Youth FC.
Weβd especially like to say a huge welcome back to all our parents and families, and thank you for the continued support you give our players, coaches and teams week in, week out. From the early mornings and long journeys to the encouragement from the sidelines, your support plays such an important part in our young playersβ football journeys. π
We are delighted to bring back our Team of the Week, giving our managers and coaches the opportunity each week to recognise players and teams who have stood out through their performances, effort, attitude, teamwork, commitment and development.
And what a fantastic way to start the new season!
β WEEK 1 NOMINEES β
π΅ U9 Blues | Filip
Scored 3 well-earned goals, battled hard and tracked back well. Filip also set up a couple of goals for his teammates.
βͺ U9 Whites | Ralphie | Midfield
Dominated the midfield and got himself a goal for his hard work.
π΅ U10 Blues | Noah | ST
His work rate was outstanding and he added some nice goals and assists to his performance.
βͺ U10 Whites | Whole Team
The team played their hearts out in the first game of the season. A fantastic effort from everyone. πͺπΌπ·
π΅ U11 Blues | Jacob | RW
Played in an unfamiliar role, showing great desire to get up and down the wing. He showed good composure on the ball and even got himself a well-earned goal.
π΄ U12 Reds | Reggie
A tough pick today, but his work rate and persistence pipped it. Got a deserved goal too.
π΅ U12 Blues | Barkley | CM
Played in a new role and took it in his stride, pulling the strings on the way to a great cup win.
βͺ U12 Whites | Whole Team
First time playing 9v9 whilst playing up a year and they knocked it out the park. They played some really entertaining football with some clinical finishing. Great start to the season, boys! π·π·
π΅ U13 Blues | Cam | Right Back
A great performance today. Full of energy and did so many blocks. Was unlucky with an OG and recovered from it well. Well done!
βͺ U14 Whites | Vihaan S | RW
Played RW, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist. Ripped Netherton apart down the right and played out of his skin.
π΅ U14 Blues | David | CM
Controlled the middle of the pitch in a convincing 6-1 win to start the season.
π΅ U15 Blues | Riley B | Right Back
For today and Thursday night, solid in the right-back position, attacked at the right time as well as being solid in his one-on-ones, winning the ball. A good season awaits him.
