Dear Parents and Carers,
This is one of the hardest messages I’ve had to write, and I want to begin by saying thank you truly for your patience, kindness and support over the past year. Southwick Swim School has meant so much to me, and watching your children grow in confidence, overcome fears and achieve milestones has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.
Sadly, after yet another third party inspection identified further faults within the pool plant room, I have had to make the extremely difficult decision to close Southwick Swim School permanently. My confidence that the plant room will be fully operational by September has significantly reduced, and I genuinely believe it is likely to remain out of action well beyond then. The ongoing uncertainty has made it impossible for me to continue with our swim school.
I know many of you will have seen this coming given everything that has happened over recent months, but that doesn’t make it any easier to say. I am truly sorry.
Support for You and Your Child
I want you to know that I am still here for you. I will be available in the gym if anyone wants to talk things through, ask questions, or simply needs reassurance about next steps. Please feel free to pop in at any time you are not alone in this transition.
Tidal Swim Club – A Safe, Structured Next Step
Over the couple of weeks, I have been in discussions with Tidal Swim Club, who currently run lessons on Saturdays between 9:00am and 11:00am at West Hill Park School, St Margarets Lane, Titchfield, Fareham PO14 4BS. They have kindly offered a fantastic contingency plan for all Southwick swimmers, giving your children the opportunity to transfer over with minimal disruption.
I want to be absolutely clear: Southwick Swim School is not in collaboration with Tidal Swim Club. Tidal is a completely separate swim school.
However, I, Danny founder of Southwick Swim School trust them 100%. Their values, structure and commitment to swimmer development align perfectly with what I believe in, and I know your children and my children who will be transitioning over will be in safe, capable hands.
If your child does move over, I will personally provide Tidal with their full development record so their progress continues seamlessly.

A Final Thank You
Southwick Swim School is something I have been incredibly proud of. Together, we have helped 42 families build confidence in the water and achieve milestones they should be proud of. I am truly sorry that things have ended this way, but I believe this is the right decision given the circumstances.
If you have any questions or would like to talk things through, please feel free to pop into the gym or give me a call. I’m here for anyone who needs a chat.
Warmest regards,
Danny, Amy, Mike, Sandra, Hannah and Finley. Southwick Swim School / DW Training & Development .
