Another successful regatta for team BTC 🏆

On sunny Saturday we took to home waters for regatta, with BTC claiming strong wins and yet more points on the Championship tally’s! ☀️

The regatta season has begun! And BTC kicked it off in style with some fantastic results across both days this weekend at

A week with BTC 👉

1. The boathouse Easter egg hunt…just practicing our sprint finishes? 😜🍫

2. Despite the weather being positively English, it’s been non-stop action, with all of our squads putting in the hours on and off the water 🌊 🏋️

3. All round club celebrations as our Sons of the Sea, the Men’s Masters 8, returned home from The Thames with their Vets Head victory 🥇

4. We also celebrated our Men’s Masters Composite 8, who likewise returned home from Vets Head, placing an incredible 8th overall 🇬🇧

5. The Ladies completed their 3-day training camp, putting in the miles, as we get ready to take on the regatta season 💪

6. And to round off the week for Easter, on Saturday we gathered together at the bar to watch the action of the 🍿🍻

If this sounds like your kind of week, muddy boots, big laughs, time on the water and pushing towards that win, we’re the place for you 🏆 BTC is always busy, always welcoming, and always ready for getting out on the water 🚣‍♂️ We welcome anyone, from novice to experienced, DM us to enquire about coming down to join us!

BTC - Winners at Vets HORR 🏆

Well done to our unstoppable Men’s Masters crew of Jon, Brent, Simon, Adam, Alan, Simon, Mike and Malc with cox Marcus and coach Celia.

BTC took the win for our category by nearly 2 mins, also placing 26th overall out of 300!

An awesome achievement and they all deserve every bit of success for their commitment over the last 5 months.

Sons of the sea … and river 💙🤍

Happy International Women’s Day to our ‘Daughters of the Sea’ 💙🤍💙

Today, and everyday, we celebrate the incredible women of our club, their power, dedication, and spirit that makes BTC Rowing Club what it is.

From early morning rows to race day finishes, here’s to our athletes, coaches, supporters, and friends who prove that strength and determination know no limits. Happy International Women’s Day!

Join BTC for our annual Spring Head of The River Race as we celebrate 50 years of the race after being set up by the City of Southampton Rowing Association in 1976.

Thank you for supporting our event, and we’ll see you all there, as we race against the clock 🥇

It’s with great sadness we report the passing of one of our former members, David W. James on 3rd December. Born the 5th March 1937 he started rowing in the early 50’s with his two brothers Robert (Bob) and Eddie James. David won a Junior Fours Hants & Dorset in 1954 with his brother Robert and crew mates Peter Wardell (who’s still a life member) and Ray Bowles who sadly passed away in 1961. This crew was coxswained by a young Denis Woodford who steered this crew to victory under the coaching of Albert (Bert) Flood, Club Trainer and Captain.

This crew was also selected by the N.A.R.A to represent the Hants and Dorset at Shoreham in the N.A.R.A Championship of Great Britain. This crew won their race making them not only Junior Champions of Great Britain, but winners of the Eton Mission Cup a cup B.T.C. Later won in 1957 as well.

David still attended the odd South Coast Championships or club event, and he will always be remembered in B.T.C. history. Rest in peace David.
