Fast and fearless; Ollie loves to fly down the wing and get involved all over the pitch. One minute he will be helping create an attack and the next minute he is racing back to support in his defensive duties. His energy and ability to play on both sides of the pitch make him an incredibly versatile full back and invaluable asset to the The Spitfires family! Welcome Back for another term Ollie OG5!

Wooohoooooo 🥳🥳 They only went and grabbed another tournament winners medal and trophy today at the Daventry Town tournament!! What a season these boys are having! 🤩 Crazy.

It wasn’t all plain sailing today mind you, but ultimately the team stuck to their game plan and played with determination and passion. Our shooting boots were in attendance today, which was good to see, as we shot at will to try and grab the goals that were lacking last weekend ⚽️ 🔴⚫️

Still some improvement in areas needed, but such a mature performance once again. Goals conceded today were - for the most part - very soft and we need to make sure in small-sided matches we defend as a team better… and what better opportunity to do that than on Sunday when we take part in the Dallas Burston tournament!

Could we make it 3/3 tournament wins? 🤔😂😂

🔴⚫ One of the OG's signs on for the next campaign!
Calm under pressure and rarely phased by the opposition press, Seb always seems to have time on the ball. He makes smart choices, reads the game ahead of time and picks out clever passes that help the team stay in control when the game becomes hectic. Often playing with a maturity beyond his years... Seb is a Spitfire for 2026/27 💪🏼

Archie has signed on for 26/27! Our Goalkeeper and Parents Player of the Season; brave, loud, and always ready to make a big save. He is fearless between the sticks and never afraid to throw himself at the ball. Keeping everyone organised, encouraging his teammates and making saves that leave people wondering “How?”. When in goal, the team knows they’re in safe hands… and that continues into Tier 1 next season!💪🏻🧤

Ole ole ole! Tournament season started for us today; and it started very well indeed with a win at the club we once called our Home!

Whilst for most of the tournament we played with class and style, there were times we seemed to struggle to find our rhythm and get out of 1st gear… but nevertheless the boys never gave up!

Finding the net was our Achilles heal - especially with our top scorer ruling themselves out for a number of weeks through injury yesterday 😩 - but the teamwork on display, and the determination to defend at all costs, was admirable! 💪🏻🔴⚫️

Our route to the final…

Group games:
0-0 vs Hillmorton
0-0 vs Coventry Sphinx
1-0 vs Wolston Juniors (Ben ⚽️)
0-0 vs Rugby Borough
1-1 vs Dallas Burston (Rory ⚽️)

Semi Final:
0-0 vs Southam Utd; 3-0 pens

Final:
2-0 vs Khalsa Tigers (Ben ⚽️ / Finley ⚽️)

Some improvement in areas needed, but such a mature performance for the majority of the games today; conceding only one goal. Hopefully that will continue into next weekend when we play a double header - Daventry Town tournament on Saturday; Dallas Burston tournament on Sunday!

DADS WIN THE PENALTY SHOOT-OUT! (you need read no more...)

So... what a truly amazing Fathers Day was had by most of the Spitfire Dads yesterday at our Annual Dads vs Lads outing! We - the Dads - all expected this may be one of the last games whereby we allow the boys a way back into the game... we were wrong!

Due to the warm weather conditions we decided to introduce the World Cup hydration ruling and - whether you love it or loathe it - they were an incredibly welcome break for all (even more so for the Dads). Going into the final Quarter Spitfires were leading Dads 3-2; so a big quarter was needed from the Dads to maintain their pride / dignity / self-respect / the boys respect / (delete as appropriate)!!

However, it seems fitness prevailed as the boys took advantage of the weary old legs they were up against, and they romped home to a legitimate 6-2 victory!! A shocker for the Dads, but a really wonderful exhibition of football and team camaraderie from everyone. I am sure all of the Dads will be feeling a little sore this morning - not just their egos - but we are already plotting our revenge for Fathers Day 2027.

It seems any potential U13 Spitfires trialing for the upcoming season may also require a Father who is fit and able to play - professional football experience welcomed🤣

Our thanks to the club as always for accommodating us and allowing us the use of the clubhouse kitchen facilities along with the usual pitch facilities - which look absolutely immaculate by the way! You know who you are, and it is very much appreciated. Thanks too, to the Mums who worked hard preparing some much needed bacon sarnies and hot/cold drinks throughout.

Dads player of the match went to Noah's Dad, Dom. A workhorse performance with non-stop running and a determination from start-to-finish! He also grabbed a sensational solo goal! You can tell he is an endurance runner... where as most of the other Dads appear to be endurance drinkers! 🤣

BUT... scoring a sensational hat-trick for the Lads, and also notching two assists, saw not only the Player of the Match award but also the shiny new World Cup match ball, heading home with Riley - The Rocket! He was on top form yesterday... showing his Dad how it's done for sure!! 😜

All that's left now - as coaches - is to try and salvage any respect remaining from the boys as we try to get them ready for Tier 1 football next season... we hope they still believe in us! One things for sure - the Dads would be relegated next year!! 👀



Oh... yes there was a fun, yet meaningless, penalty shoot-out after the match too - as the headline above stated - Dads won that one! 💪🏼 We'll take it!
