South West AMCA Classic Championship

Our riders had some difficult conditions to battle through for round 3 of the championship at Tincleton yesterday, with overnight rain making for a very soft and unpredictable sand track to really test everyone's mettle! The championship standings at the mid-way point are as follows:

Pre-68:
Even with adverse conditions on the day it was much of the same for Luke Hickie as it has been, finally conceding a race victory in the third moto but still taking the overall win on the day and extending his lead to 69 points over Garry Martin, with Steve Iles Jr now falling to 3rd in the standings a further 51 behind.

Pre-74:
Despite a difficult first race including the loss of one of his footpegs, Steve Dagger dug deep and put in some strong performances to take over the championship lead by 12 points over his new closest rival Ray Hooper, with Andy Hughes trailing another 39 back.

Twinshock A:
The tricky conditions clearly weren't enough to move Luke Hill from his current path, another clean sweep on the day making him 9 for 9 so far in the championship, though Marcus Feltham's consistent results see him still within reach, 45 points behind at the halfway point.

Twinshock B:
Shaun Thomas fought through the conditions to take home some steady points on the day and retain his championship lead going into round 4, with Harvey Lowe jumping to 2nd in the points and only 8 behind the Maico rider, as James King continues to lurk near the top just another 22 further back.

Twinshock C:
Another rollercoaster of a day from a group that's taught us to expect nothing less this year sees Jack Courtney's consistent finishes extend his gap in the championship to 40 over Blake Winston who finds himself locked in a tight three-way battle with William Lester and Phil Hunt.

Twinshock D:
Steven Bristow found himself improving as the day went on, his consistency across the championship so far serving him well as his gap increases to 25 points over new second place man Scott Perry, who sits just 6 ahead of James Bristow.

Twinshock E:
A string of podiums for Sean Cook was enough to see him retaining the lead of the championship, though Mia Milsom's overall win has closed the gap to just 10 points at the front of the field, with Kori Lilley currently a further 40 behind and heading a very close fight for 3rd.

Well, that's things all wrapped up for Round 2 of the championship! Please see below your championship standings:

Pre-68:
Another dominant day's racing from Luke Hickie sees the BSA rider extending his championship lead to 20 points over Steve Iles Jr, with Colin Hickie a further 12 points back in third.

Pre-74:
A consistent string of 2nd place finishes was enough for Martin Stephens to maintain the lead of the championship, though three wins on the day from Steve Dagger has reduced the gap to only 4 points headed into round 3, with Ray Hooper still right in the mix a further 15 points back.

Twinshock A:
It was business as usual for Luke Hill at the front, another dominant clean sweep today extending his points lead to a staggering 34 points over Marcus Feltham in second, a measly 3 points ahead of Ryan Hooper in third.

Twinshock B:
Points remain close in the Twinshock B class at the head of the field with Shaun Thomas taking over the lead in the points, Brett Selby staying consistent and trailing by only 6 points as James King follows them a further 19 points back.

Twinshock C:
Consistent top three finishes on the day had meant that Jack Courtney now takes over the championship lead heading into round 3, holding a comfortable 30 point gap between himself and Blake Winston, with Malcolm Sansom a further 6 behind.

Twinshock D:
The Bristow's maintain control of the top 2 spots with Steven Bristow keeping hold of the championship lead, 13 points ahead of James Bristow with Martin Foster rounding out the podium a further 12 back.

Twinshock E:
A clean sweep of wins on the day for Sean Cook sees him taking over the championship lead by 15 points over his closest rivals of Mia Milsom and Ashley Brammal.

Evo A:
A string of second places on the day for Tanisha Thomas has allowed her to storm into the championship lead, taking a monumental 42 point gap over Mik Hill into round three, with Mark Pickard a further 7 back.

Evo B:
A strong performance from Greg Pascoe sees him taking over the championship lead with a 21 point lead over Dan Merifield, with Ashley Underhill in third a further 51 behind.

With round 2 at Roar on the Moor rapidly approaching, so too is the closing date for entries to round 3 of the championship at Tincleton - entries close 26th May so be sure to get yourselves in!

Just 2 and a half weeks remain until the second round of our championship with the North Devon club! Entries are still open until the 17th of May, so be sure to get yourselves in while spaces are still available!

We know that a few of our riders have been concerned looking at their entries for Round 2 not yet showing their specific grouping - the North Devon club has confirmed that they are waiting until nearer to entry close to fully complete grading, but rest assured that you will all be put in the correct groups!

As promised, here are your championship standings after round 1!

Pre-68:
It's been a dominant start to the campaign for Luke Hickie taking all 3 wins at the opening round, opening up an early 11 point lead on Steve Iles Jnr who is being closely followed by Colin Hickie just 2 points further back.

Pre-74:
A similarly impressive start to the season for Martin Stephens who also took all 3 wins on the day, ending the day with a 13 point lead over his closest challengers Steve Dagger and Ray Hooper.

Twinshock A:
Keeping with the trend of dominant opening rounds is Luke Hill taking a hatrick of wins at the first round, now 15 points ahead of Leighton Holmes who finds himself being trailed by Jack Alderton 4 points further behind.

Twinshock B:
A closer affair in our Twinshock B class sees Ryan Baker leaving round 1 with only a slim 2 point margin ahead of Shaun Thomas, who himself only has a 3 point cushion over Brett Selby in third.

Twinshock C:
Another display of brilliance in the Twinshock C class sees Adam Trewern taking home a clean sweep of victories and opening up a comfortable gap of 17 points over Jack Courtney in second, with Steve Atkins currently in third a further 7 points behind.

Twinshock D:
An interesting rollercoaster day of racing leaves us with an all-Bristow affair in the top three spots with Steven Bristow leaving as championship leader 9 points ahead of Charlie Bristow, with James Bristow a further 8 behind.

Twinshock E:
Consistency was key for Julierme Bruniera taking home a strong of 2nd place finishes amongst the chaos to leave round 1 as championship leader by 6 points over Ashley Brammal, and a further 5 ahead of Sean Cook.

Evo A:
Nobody could seem to touch Carl Luke today who leaves Martinstown with wins across the board and a 16 point gap over Nick Phillips in second, with Tanisha Thomas just one point further behind.

Evo B:
Our closest championship leaving the first round of the season sees Martin Parr and Greg Pascoe tied for the championship lead and just a single point ahead of Dan Merifield in third.
