Philadelphia Wanderers 1 - 1 Red Hackle

Today we had a short trip up the road for our opponents today over to Washington Hub with high confidence after last weeks result.

Maybe too confident it turns out as wanderers had us pegged back from the start, in our faces and not letting us out. But we stood firm and managed to start knocking the ball about.

It was quite an even game in large parts Sean Mills making some big saves, an unbelievable block from Jay Simpson to keep it 0-0.

Deadlock was eventually broken by the evergreen and ever reliable Hackle Haaland (Jordan Larkin). There was a couple of times we got in behind after a good passing move had captain Kyle Hudson, who in turn passed it across to Larks on the edge - he created himself a yard and struck it sweet into the bottom corner on his left. 1-0.

Wanderers continued to hassle us and got their reward before half time from a free kick on the edge of the box. Great strike. 1-1.

After the break it was fairly even once again. Both teams creating chances and either team could’ve knicked a goal.

Well.. was even - until Jay Simpson tripped the wanderers striker up that was going through on goal. £35 to Durham FA please Jay and enjoy ya week off 🔴.

After a rejig in shape it was more backs to the wall and try to keep our point whilst trying to catch on the counter. We did carve out a couple chances but unfortunately couldn’t take them.

Boys grafted like f**k and defended like their lives depended on it. Millsy making saves and literally every player putting in big tackles and giving 120%.

So all in all, a strange game for us today. But if anything it showed some character from the boys to take a draw from the game.

WE ARE SO BACK.

Sunderland City FC 0 - 11 Red Hackle

First I do want to give Sunderland City some credit, a team that have gone into a transition with players, struggling a little bit but they never stop. Best of luck to them for the rest of the season.

But anyways… LETS GET CARRIED AWAY MAN!!

Early 9:20 kick off, today but seemed like the lads were right up for it. Yes the write ups normally have a bit of spice and have a novel-esk style to them.. unfortunately today the lad keeping track of the goals came on at 4-0 so it’ll be more of a summary but we’ll do our best.

As you can tell by the picture, Hackle Haaland (Jordan Larkin) - still scoring goals but now wants to be De Bruyne’s Double. Absolutely taking the p**s with 7 assists. Scary thing is that it could’ve been more. Jay Simpson with a quirky quick throw splitting the defence to play in Brandon was a highlight assist.

Shay Robson got us up and running with an absolute rocket from outside the box 🔥

Larkin with a double to go with all his assists, notably one of the goals where he rounded the keeper after borrowing the injured Paul Storeys snake hips and walking the ball into the net

Corey Welsh hasn’t been playing FC26, just back on fifa street unleashing game breakers into the top corner. Ordered Ford Hub a new net. 💰

Joel Halcrow got himself up and running, pouncing on a loose ball in the box after a Shay Robson effort was blocked, sweeping it bottom corner - Sunderland City players are going to be having nightmares about Joel running past them the day

Ryan Lindsay scored a pen - not much else I can say about it. Boring goal - grow up.

Brandon Williams got himself a 14 minute hattrick, best of the bunch was a ball across where he opened his body up and slotted in the corner, most players would’ve probably put their hip out doing it but not Brandon… asked him how he does it.. he said “Rangers” warra player. 🤷‍♂️

Dylan Loan got on the end of a larks corner, held off about 4 players and powered it home 💪🏼

Lastly and quite honestly the icing on the cake was an own goal 🥴

Jake Copeland - Man of the match, covered every blade of grass.

Asked skipper Kyle Hudson for some words on the game. He replied “f**k off”. My skipper 💙

All in all an extraordinary, remarkable, spectacular, incredible and phenomenal result - got some different words in even on a summary write up.

Up the hackle.

As always, thanks to all of our sponsors. We wouldn’t be here without you.

RED HACKLE FC 7 V 2 PLAINS FARM CLUB

With admin away on international duty with the missus it's down to the Gaffa to write this week's match report so here goes!!

Some tough decisions to make in selecting the team today after our county cup win 2 weeks ago but we decided to just make the one change with Hatty coming for Ryan at centre back leaving our top scorer on the bench was certainly not easy!!

We started brightly moving the ball around well and went ahead on 8 minutes when a long throw from Jay Simpson wasn't cleared and fell to Shaun Rav to fire home from close range. 1-0

One quickly became two when after 10 mins a strong tackle from Rav in midfield put Jordan Larkin clean through and he slotted home for 2-0.

The farm boys rallied a bit but didn't really trouble our goal and we took full control on the half hour when good pressure from Michael Monks Madgin who won the ball and fed Larkin on the edge of the box and he coolly fired into the bottom corner for 3-0.
Then on 33 mins it was Larkin who turned provider after picking up a throw from Hatty he beat his man and crossed for Monks to score from 8 yds out. 4-0

Time for one more before the break as Larkin completed his hat trick on 41 when a Millsy long ball was won by Monks who crossed for Jordan to make it 5-0 at HT!!

Not much was needed to be said at the break but we obviously wanted to continue to build on the 1st half.
But we started slowly and credit to Plains Farm who came out hot and fit a goal from a corner on 55 mins. 5-1
Rav got booked for stopping a restart on 60 and Jay got one for a foul before we made 3 changes on the hour Jay Thomas Leggett and MOTM Monks made way for top scorer Stephen Loan Kaebian and Jake Copeland and immediately we scored again when Hatty played a ball to Kaebian who's first pass split the defence to put Loany through and he smacked the ball home for 6-1 on 62 mins.
Sean Mills Then made two cracking saves the first stopping a one on one coming out and stopping the s**t well the second an outstanding tip onto the bar from Hattys attempted clearance!!
But we got a seventh when a long ball from Mills found Larkin who picked out Loany on the edge of the box who fired home for his tenth of the seaso on 72 mins . 7-1
Farm got a late consultation but couldn't stop a huge win for the Red Hackle boys!!

Normal service next week hopefully.....but well played boys a great start to the season so far!!

COUNTY CUP

Red Hackle 4 - 1 Horden Comrades FC

A well contested game saw the boys come out on top and we wish the Horden lads all the best for the season. A canny bunch of lads and made the effort to come back to the bar and have a drink with us, great to see.

Anyways…enough of all the nice crack, we played a game where we scored 4 and didn’t concede as many, what a day to be alive.

First home game of the season for the lads and we started electric which is such a common theme this season, first 20 minutes we kept the ball, played it around and got our rewards. After some sloppiness or maybe tactical play 🤔 we found ourselves defending a corner. Defended it well and hit on the break, a underhit back pass to the keeper latched onto by Michael Monks Madgin, heard he’s at Gills now waiting for his fish to go with the chip 🍟. 1-0. ⚽️

Kicking the sitting back trend we’ve made this season 1 quickly became 2 when we won the ball back in the middle after some great pressing, Shaun Ravenhall played the ball through to Monks who slotted it home to double the scoreline. 2-0 ⚽️.

Now normally when you go 2-0 in a game, the teams happy, playing well, full of encouragement. Not today, early on set sun stroke for Jay Simpson, trying to argue and fight with anyone that has a pulse, referee got it, their team got it, our team got it, even the poor gaffa’s got a bit of abuse.. for what seemed like it was for basically nothing. 🤷‍♂️ anger management course heading Jays way.

Another thing I’d like to ask is that everyone keeps Stephen Loan in their thoughts, he doesn’t get hangovers so the three pints he had last night couldn’t have been the reason for the no show with a bad head 🥴 Big Baby.

Moving into the second half the Horden lot started to put some pressure on but for the first time this season the defence stood firm to the task. The few occasions they broke through the cat 🐈‍⬛ Sean Mills stood strong 💪🏼 and an outstanding goal line tackle from Glenn Kidger.

The next bit of action was bizarre, hackle attacking when Shay Robson stood on the keepers toe.. but the keeper had just got his Bobby dazzlers so obviously wanted to tell Shay he was pure shan cos he loves his new boots and whilst he was at it thought he’d show Shay his new handbag that he’d got in the sale for a mint price, but Shays a lad with great taste. His handbag was bigger and better. 👜 All while comparing bags the game was still being played, monks played a cross ball to Thomas Leggett who made no mistake into an empty net. Always play to the whistle 👀🤷‍♂️. 3-0⚽️.

Last but not least, in the dying embers of the game we won a corner which Ryan Lindsay delivered on the left peg, which was met brilliantly by Andy Dunwoodie in a moment where it looked like he was ready to kill to make sure he got there. Bullet header, keeper had no chance. 4-0⚽️.

Horden managed to pull one back in unfortunate circumstances with a corner that Millsy went to punch, unluckily hitting Kyle Hudson and rebounding in. Now Kyle’s been outstanding this season and didn’t deserve the rotten luck, so we’ve decided that it’s only fair to count it as his own goal. Unlucky pal. 4-1.

All in all a good performance from the boys and a well contested game. Wish the Horden lads all the best for the season and for the Sunday session 👍.
