Well that was an interesting one!

For the second time this season, the lads faced Farringdon Detached. The last time these teams faced the Fountain walked away with all 3 points.

Hoping to do the same again today, the lads made a strong start, dominating early on and creating chances.

Crutwell had a penalty saved early on but the lads went on to take the lead shortly after, with an assist from star man Gray to see Crutwell clear it past the keeper and send the lads 1-0 up going in to half time.

Farringdon levelled the game early in the second half.

The lads broke away with the ball from the halfway line and sent Maher to a 1 on 1 with the keeper which was saved and Crutwell followed up with the rebound to score his second of the morning.

This is where it gets interesting…

One team continued to kick the ball, the other team kicked everything else. FD sent the ball out for a goal kick and clearly the right back wasn’t happy feeling they should’ve been awarded a corner (🥴) and took a strong dislike to being called a spoon.
An awful 🫤 challenge on Donaldson shortly after led to the visitors going down to 10 men and all hell broke loose. What followed was nothing short of a scene Coronation Street would be proud of.

To round it up:
• a kick followed by a headbutt
• some gobby right back didn’t enjoy being played at his own game and mouthed off at the referee, something he’d done for the previous 80 minutes
• a red card
• an attempted flashing to prove size of one’s balls
• a threat to meet everyone in the non-existent car park after the game
• and a very speedy departure after the final whistle

Well Done to all the Fountain Lads this morning!
Great goals from Crutwell and a fantastic performance from Star Man Gray. Still top of the league and another 3 points on the table 💪🏻

Thanks for all 6 points this season lads, hope your striker enjoys being £55 down after his 5 minute appearance and have fun the rest of the season.
