Match Day One vs Hebburn Town Gold Madrid

⚽️⚽️⚽️ Ellis

Back at Ford Hub for the start of the U10’s season, taking on a Hebburn side we hadn’t faced before with 2 lads missing it meant we only had one sub. It turned out to be a real game of two halves — some excellent football in the first, and a tougher, scrappier second.

A bright start from the lads saw Harley and Ellis pressing high, forcing Hebburn to panic at the back. Their pressure paid off when Ellis won the ball and calmly slotted it past the keeper. His second came shortly after from a corner that curled in.

Hebburn, who had been working hard, pulled one back from a scramble in the box. Ellis restored the two goal lead when a quick kick in and long range strike found its way into the net. Unfortunately, Hebburn grabbed another with the final kick of the half.

The second half was all about digging in. Hebburn piled on the pressure, and the lads struggled to find their usual rhythm, giving away a few unnecessary free‑kicks. But they held firm, battled to the end, and secured the points — starting the season with a win.

It wasn’t the prettiest, but a win is a win. On to next week. Big shout out to Caleb and Jaxon for stepping up and taking a half each in goal in the absence of Ruben Courtois

The lads stepped into the Clash of the Titans tournament today, us coaches knowing they were up against teams several divisions above them. We didn’t tell them any of that — all we asked was to work hard, stick together and never give up.

And they delivered. Every single one of them brought their best. Some unreal performances across the pitch meant they finished 3rd in their group, earning a well‑deserved semi‑final spot.

In the semi‑final they gave everything they had left. The effort, the running, the tackles, the bravery — all there. Eventually the legs went, the steam ran out, and the boys fell just short. But what a day.

What they achieved today was brilliant. Ranked the lowest team in the competition, yet beating high‑level sides and showing real class. They proved exactly what we already knew — they’re great players with huge potential.

MOTT – Ruben ⭐️
Choosing a MOTT today was almost impossible. Every player was outstanding. But when two separate coaches come over and say, “you’ve got yourself a very good keeper”, it tells you everything.

They pick the player who stood out this season — and in my opinion, the parents got this 100% spot on. Like us, they’ve watched this boy grow into someone who plays a big part in this team. Always improving. Always trying. Always giving everything.

Earlier this week we had our end of season presentation. Huge thanks to Mr Mulligans Newcastle for hosting us. It was a great night from start to finish and their stadium room for our presentation afterwards was a great touch.

Also a massive thank you to all the parents, grandparents and siblings for coming along week after week, in all weathers, to support the boys. They wouldn’t be where they are in their footballing journey without your support.

Finally thank you to all the lads. A squad full of personality, graft, flair, and chaos — the perfect mix that make us coaches extremely proud. Here’s what we had to say about them all.

Aiden – The Wall — The rock at the back. Flies into every crunching tackle and somehow always comes out the winner. A defender opponents bounce off.

Caleb – The Poacher — Plays with a constant smile. Lightning reactions, big goals, and a habit of popping up exactly when the team needs him.

Ellis – The Trickster — The newest addition with fancy foot skills and a love for a cheeky meg. A wand of a left foot and a sharp eye for goal.

Harley – The Magician — Footwork that leaves players and parents amazed. Fouled more times than anyone can count, but always gets up and finds the net.

Harrison – The Smiler — Just don’t mention the smile or he’ll go shy. Plays with calmness and strength, gliding through games unfazed.

Jaxon – The Enforcer — Harton’s Roy Keane. A relentless box‑to‑box midfielder who covers every blade of grass and smashes in pile‑driver goals.

Jona – The Engine — A powerhouse with a hammer of a left foot. Constantly driving the team forward on and off the pitch.

Reggie – The Finisher — The boy with 1,000 questions and 1,000 goals incoming. Knows exactly where the net is. A striker defenders fear.

Ruben – Golden Gloves — Once a power striker, now a keeper teams struggle to beat. Still capable of popping up with goals when needed.

Oscar – The Vision — Sees danger before it happens. Reads counters brilliantly, has a great right foot, and pulls off the best foot‑roll you’ll ever see.
