A special mention this week goes to Bentley Wilkinson, who has been absolutely outstanding for South Tyneside Hurricanes this season.

Bentley has gone from strength to strength throughout the campaign and has well and truly made the centre-back position his own. Week after week, he delivers top-class performances and has become one of the team's most dependable players, turning in a 10/10 performance every week.

His defensive ability has been exceptional. Bentley reads the game brilliantly, times his tackles well, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time to stop opposition attacks. His determination to win the ball back and protect his team is second to none, and he rarely gives attackers a moment's peace.

What really sets Bentley apart is the effort he gives every time he pulls on the Hurricanes shirt. He gives 100% in every game, works tirelessly for his teammates, and never backs down from a challenge. His consistency has been remarkable, with performance after performance setting the standard for those around him.

With the season still ongoing, Bentley has already shown just how important he is to the team, and if he continues in this form, there's no doubt there are plenty more great performances to come.

This reflects massively with him winning MOTM in 5/7 games!

Another fantastic result for South Tyneside Hurricanes as we make it 5 wins out of 5 in the Spring Cup! 💙⚽

A huge well done to every single one of the lads today. From the first whistle to the last, the effort, commitment, teamwork and attitude were outstanding. Every player played their part and showed exactly why this squad is so strong — everyone is vital, and everyone contributed to a brilliant team performance.

Credit also to Coxhoe United, who are a very good side and played some excellent football. They moved the ball brilliantly and were a real test for us throughout the game.

We're delighted with the result and proud of the way the boys worked for each other to get it done.

Best of luck to Coxhoe United for the rest of the season — a great group and we wish them every success.

What a brilliant day for the South Tyneside Hurricanes at Stoke City! ⚽️🌪️

An incredible experience for all of the players, getting the opportunity to play on the pitch at a professional stadium and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The team were outstanding throughout the day, remaining unbeaten through the group stages and knockout rounds, showing fantastic teamwork, determination and character. After a superb run, our journey came to an end in the most heartbreaking way, falling just short in a penalty shootout in the final.

Every player should be immensely proud of their efforts and the way they represented the club.

A huge thank you to all of the families and supporters who made the long journey and cheered the team on every step of the way. Your support means everything and helps create opportunities like this for our young players.

And once again a massive thank you to Grassroots Football North East for making this possible!

Another fantastic session tonight for the South Tyneside Hurricanes 👏⚽

The commitment, attitude and willingness to learn from every single player was outstanding from start to finish. The intensity and effort throughout the session showed exactly why this group continues to improve week after week.

Tonight’s session focused on:
⚽ First touch
⚽ Close control
⚽ 1 & 2 touch passing
⚽ Movement off the ball
⚽ Finishing and composure in front of goal

These are all hugely important parts of player development and areas that help the lads grow both individually and as a team. We worked on improving confidence on the ball, speed of play, awareness, communication and making better decisions under pressure.

The finishing work was excellent tonight, with some great quality on show and a real focus on composure and movement in attacking areas. It’s brilliant to see the confidence within the squad continuing to grow every week and the lads taking on information and applying it during training.

Massive credit to every player tonight for their effort, focus and attitude 👏 Proud of the progress this group is making week in, week out 💙

This Sunday is about more than just football.

Our South Tyneside Hurricanes will be travelling to Stoke City’s stadium for an incredible “Play on the Pitch” experience — an opportunity that these young players will remember for the rest of their lives.

For many of our children, stepping out onto a professional stadium pitch is the stuff dreams are made of. It’s the kind of moment they talk about for years, and moments like this are only possible because of the amazing support around them.

We want to take a moment to recognise and sincerely thank all of our parents and families who will be making the long journey with us. Early starts, long hours on the road, organising weekends around football, supporting in every kind of weather, and constantly giving their time, energy and encouragement — it never goes unnoticed.

Grassroots football is built on the dedication of families. Behind every young player is a parent, grandparent, sibling or guardian making sacrifices to give them every opportunity to grow, learn and enjoy the game they love.

Sunday is a reward for all of that commitment. Not just for the players, but for every person who has helped them get to this point. Watching the Hurricanes walk out onto a stadium pitch wearing the badge with pride will be a special moment for everyone connected to the club.

Win, lose or draw, the memories created will last forever. Experiences like these inspire confidence, build friendships, and remind the kids why they fell in love with football in the first place.

We are incredibly proud of every single player representing South Tyneside Hurricanes this weekend. Play with pride, enjoy every second, and make memories together.

Memories for them to last a life time

What a day for South Tyneside Hurricanes! 🌪️🏆

Today we entered a tournament at Newcastle United’s training ground and after a really slow start — losing 2 and drawing 1 — we honestly looked pretty much out. But the lads absolutely turned it on from there, winning 4 group games in a row to go through to the top tournament.

We then won our semi-final against a fantastic Wallsend team before going on to win the final 3-0 against the same team who beat us in our very first game!

Every single player was outstanding today and adapted brilliantly to the short games, quick turnarounds and constant changes throughout the day. To walk away from an open tournament as CHAMPIONS against the calibre of teams that were there is unbelievable, and every one of you should be so proud.

What an experience and opportunity for the lads to play at a venue like that — topped off by becoming CHAMPIONS! 🏆⚽️👏

Another fantastic performance from the lads today as we continue our strong start in the Spring Cup, making it 4 wins from 4 💙🌪️

Credit to Witton, who moved the ball really well and gave us a tough game throughout. We’d like to wish them the very best for the rest of their season.

What stood out most today was the character, determination and togetherness from our team. The lads kept fighting for every ball, showed great resilience throughout, and never stopped believing right until the final whistle.

There were some brilliant moments of football on display, with players stepping up in multiple positions, working tirelessly for each other, and showing real quality both on and off the ball.

Happy Birthday to Finley Kenrick! 🎉⚽💙

What a player and what a lad. Finley is an absolute joy to watch every single week — so calm and confident on the ball, brilliant with his feet, and someone who never stops working for the team from the first whistle to the last.

He always gives 100%, whether it’s chasing back, creating chances, or popping up with important goals and assists. His performances are no accident either — they’re all down to the hard work, dedication, and commitment he puts in every week at training and on matchdays. The improvement in his game comes from the effort he puts in behind the scenes, and it definitely shows out on the pitch.

Finley is a fantastic teammate, always willing to work for others and play with a smile on his face. A real credit to himself, his coaches, and his family.

Keep working hard and enjoying your football Finley — there’s plenty more to come from you yet. And of course, it has to be said… he’s definitely the best Kenrick brother 😅👏

Massive well done to all the lads tonight 👏

A brilliant performance against a very strong Hetton side. We know the start was slow, but the reaction after that was outstanding and every single player stepped up and showed the quality, character and togetherness this squad has.

But tonight wasn’t just about the goalscorers — it was a proper squad performance from front to back. The work rate, attitude, determination and effort for each other was excellent all night and that’s exactly why this team is doing so well this season.
