Backstroke Start / Gliding On Back

Develop floating control and posture of the body when you get into a streamlined position on your back.

This floating is an essential exercise, especially if you're learning how to swim.

1. Hold your hands to the edge or block.

2. Take and hold a big breath.

3. Push and glide at the surface of the water with your hands up and in a streamlined position.

4. Glide for as far as you can, making sure you keep your head and tummy up.

5. Repeat until you become good at it.
