⚽️ 🏆 CUP MATCH REPORT – SKEGNESS TOWN JUNIOR U11 REDS 🏆 ⚽️
What a game! The Skegness Town Junior U11 Reds faced HBW in a fantastic, closely fought cup tie that had everything you could ask for from two well-matched teams.
The first half was a real battle, with both sides working incredibly hard. It was one of those games that genuinely could have gone either way, with chances at both ends and neither team willing to give an inch.
Skegness managed to link some fantastic footwork and passing play through the middle, with Max Dunn, Bobby Etches and Corbyn Epworth combining brilliantly and playing some great balls through to Harry Etches up front, creating some excellent opportunities on goal. ⚽️👏
Harry Etches also worked tirelessly up front, making some great pressure runs and constantly putting the HBW defensive line under pressure. His persistence caused HBW to make a number of mistakes and helped create opportunities for Skegness to push forward. 👏🔥
A special mention in the first half also goes to Leo Piwowar, who pulled off a fantastic save when HBW broke through one-on-one. Leo stood strong and made a brilliant stop to keep Skegness Town at 0–0 and keep us right in the game. 🧤👏
The second half continued in exactly the same way, with some brilliant football from Skegness. Corbyn Epworth came incredibly close with a fantastic free kick that rattled the crossbar! 💥
Robbie Dhillon put in a fantastic shift in right midfield, making some exceptional runs and causing HBW plenty of problems. On one brilliant run, Robbie drove all the way through on goal and was just about to get his shot away when he was tackled at the very last moment! He also put in some great work throughout the half, linking play and playing some excellent through balls. 👏🔥
There were some great passages of play from Max Dunn who kept trying to switch the play and thread them dangerous balls through, while Ben Boulton showed plenty of pace with some brilliant dashing runs. 💨
At the back, Jakub Mlynarczyk and Jake Harrison-Smith put in fantastic defensive performances, standing strong, making some important challenges and working hard to keep HBW at bay. 🛡️👏
Henry Liversidge took to the goalkeeper role in the second half and was outstanding in goal, making some fantastic saves at crucial moments to keep Skegness Town in the game. 🧤👏
After 50 minutes of football, the game finished 0–0, meaning the tie had to be decided by a penalty shootout. 😱
The boys showed fantastic composure and courage under pressure, eventually winning the penalty shootout! 🎯👏
That means Skegness Town Junior U11 Reds progress to the next round of the cup! 🏆🔴⚪️
