🐍 NEXT MATCH | LOCAL DERBY! 🔥

After the drama of yesterday’s cup tie, attention turns straight back to league action next Saturday — and this one has a little extra spice.

It’s a Sittingbourne local derby as we welcome fellow Sittingbourne side Bredhurst Juniors Veterans. Two local teams, three league points up for grabs and definitely one we’ll want to win. 👀⚽️

We had a tough opening league game against Herne Bay, but yesterday’s cup performance showed much more of what this squad is capable of — battling back from behind and taking strong opposition all the way to sudden-death penalties.

Bredhurst started their campaign with a 2–1 win, while we’re looking to get our first league points on the board.

🏆 MANAGERS’ MAN OF THE MATCH — TOM HORSE 🏆

Absolute rock at the back today from Tom. Won his battles, read the game brilliantly and kept putting out fires when we were under pressure.

And with that Raul Moat resemblance, the remote had to make another appearance 😂📺
Thankfully the only thing Tom was shooting down today was opposition attacks. 😭🐍

Top performance mate, fully deserved. 👏

🐍🏆 FULL TIME | QEII VETERANS CUP

New Ash Green Vets 3–3 Range Rover Cobra Vets
New Ash Green win 7–6 on penalties

Our first-ever game in the QEII Veterans Cup ends in heartbreak after a proper battle against a side who were playing top-division football last season.

We struggled to get going in the first half and a couple of mistakes put us under pressure, but Dave Finch got us on the scoresheet and kept us in the tie.

The response after the break was immense. 💪

We spent long periods under constant pressure, but the defence dug in and were absolutely superb in the second half. Chances were limited at the other end, but when they came, we took them — Shaun Pullen grabbing a brilliant second-half brace to bring us back into the game. ⚽⚽

At 3–3 after 90 minutes, it went straight to penalties. After the first five it was locked at 4–4, sending us into sudden death before New Ash Green eventually edged it 7–6.

A horrible way to go out, but there’s plenty to be proud of. To fight our way back into the game and take a team of that level all the way to sudden-death penalties shows the character we’ve got in this squad.

Good luck to New Ash Green in the next round. 🤝

We go again. 🖤💛

🏆 MANAGER’S MAN OF THE MATCH — STEVE HAYNES

A tough afternoon for the Cobras, but one player who kept battling from start to finish was Steve Haynes.

Strong at the back, kept competing despite the scoreline and never stopped trying to organise, recover and do the dirty work for the team.

On a difficult day, the effort and attitude stood out and earned him the Manager’s Man of the Match award. 👏🐍

Not the start to the league season we wanted, as we fell to a 6-1 defeat at home to Herne Bay FC Vets.

We came up against a very strong, well-drilled side who have clearly been setting the standard in their area for a good few years, and they punished us when we switched off.

That said, there’s no hiding from it — we know we’re better than what we showed in spells today. We’ll take the lessons from it, stick together and work hard to put it right next time out.

Plenty of football still to be played and this group will respond. Head down, keep working, and go again. 💪

Thanks to Herne Bay FC Vets and best of luck for the rest of the season.

🐍 MATCHDAY IS HERE! 🐍

No more pre-season, no more warm-ups — league football is back.

Today the Cobras get the 2026/27 campaign underway at home against Herne Bay FC Vets.

We finished last season with some real momentum, going 4 league games unbeaten, and today is the first chance to show we can carry that form straight into a new season.

Plenty of hard work has gone in over the summer, the squad has grown stronger and now it’s time to put it all together when it matters.

🚨 UP NEXT — THE 2026/27 SEASON BEGINS! 🐍⚽️

After a slow start last season as a brand-new team, the Cobras really started to find their feet as the season went on.

We climbed off rock bottom, moved ourselves up a few places and, most importantly, finished the league campaign unbeaten in our final 4 league games. 💪

Now the aim is simple — start this season how we finished the last one and keep that unbeaten run going.

This Saturday we kick off our 2026/27 campaign at home against Herne Bay FC Vets.

🏆🐍 MAN OF THE MATCH – DAN NASH 🐍🏆

In a tough game against Premier Division opposition, Dan Nash gets our Man of the Match. 👏

⚽ Scored our only goal with an absolute screamer from outside the box 🚀🔥 and worked his socks off from the first whistle to the last.

Never stopped running, never gave up and kept battling regardless of the scoreline. Exactly the attitude we want. 💪🐍

Well deserved, Dan! 👏🖤💛
