🐍 FULL TIME | Welling United Vets 4–2 Cobra Vets

A real game of two halves last night.

We went into the break 2–0 up after absolutely dominating the first half, giving Welling very little while creating plenty ourselves.

In truth, it could and probably should have been 3–0. We had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside despite the player looking about 10 yards onside 😳 and also had a player taken out when clean through on goal. On another day it’s a red, but with it being a friendly the referee decided to keep it 11v11.

Second half was a completely different story. Welling were able to make 11 changes, while we arrived with just one substitute. Add a few injuries during the second half and eventually the legs went, we lost our shape and the home side took advantage.

4–2 defeat in the end, but plenty of positives to take from that first-half performance. When we had the legs, we showed exactly what we’re capable of.

👏 Man of the Match – Tony Downs

Started in midfield before being moved to left-back midway through the first half due to injuries. Completely out of position but you wouldn’t have known it — an absolute beast back there. Won his battles, read the game brilliantly and gave everything for the team. 💪🐍

More minutes in the tank and another useful pre-season test.

The Cobras are back on the road this Friday evening as we travel to take on Welling United Vets in our latest pre-season friendly.

Another good test for the lads and another chance to get valuable minutes in the legs, work on a few different combinations and continue building towards the new season. 💪

A brilliant day in Essex for Range Rover Cobra Vets at the Young Lives vs Cancer 6-a-side tournament.

We travelled over with two Cobra teams, and one of our sides battled their way through the group stages and into the SEMI-FINALS! 👏🔥

Unfortunately, that’s where our run came to an end against strong opposition, but reaching the final four was a great effort from the lads and something we can be proud of. 💙🖤💛

More importantly, it was a cracking day of football organised in support of an amazing cause. Huge credit to everyone involved in putting the tournament together and to all the teams who took part.

Plenty of tired legs tonight! 😂🍺

Today the Range Rover Cobra Vets are on the road as we travel up to Essex to take part in the Young Lives vs Cancer 6-a-side Football Fundraiser at Chelmer Park, Chelmsford.

We’re taking TWO Cobra Vets teams along for what should be a brilliant day of football, with both sides looking to battle their way through the group stages and hopefully into the knockouts. 💪

Plenty of football, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, all in support of a fantastic cause raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer. ❤️

Good luck to all the teams taking part today and everyone involved in organising the event.

What an incredible day for an even more incredible cause.

Yesterday’s charity match between Range Rover Cobra Vets and Sie-Lu XI wasn’t just about football—it was about coming together as one community to make a real difference.

Final Score:
🐍 Range Rover Cobra Vets 2-5 Sie-Lu XI

Congratulations to Sie-Lu XI on the win, with Sonny May taking home Man of the Match after a superb hat-trick. Despite the scoreline, it was a much closer game than 5-2 suggests, with two late goals putting the result beyond doubt.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, officiated, donated, shared our posts and came along to support us. The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish.

Together, we raised an incredible £674 for the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust. Every single pound will help support babies, children and their families when they need it most, and that’s something everyone involved should be proud of.

💙⚽ CHARITY MATCHDAY ANNOUNCEMENT ⚽💙

This Saturday, Cobra Vets take on Sie-Lu XI in a charity football match, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible!

This isn’t just about football. We’re coming together to raise money for the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust, supporting the incredible work they do for babies and their families at Medway Hospital. ❤️

Our fundraising target is £250, and every penny raised will go towards helping local children and families when they need it most.

FULL-TIME | ORPINGTON VETS 1-1 RANGE ROVER COBRA VETS 🐍⚽

A hard-fought draw in our second pre-season friendly.

The extremely dry pitch made it difficult for both sides to get the ball down and play, but that’s all part of pre-season. The main objective was getting valuable minutes into the legs, trying different formations and giving some of our new faces the chance to settle into the squad.

On another day, it could easily have gone our way. We hit the post, missed a penalty and created enough chances to come away with the win, but honours end even and the points are shared.

A special mention goes to Keith Newbury, who marked his Cobra Vets debut with a fantastic finish after a beautifully clipped through ball from JonJo. 👏⚽

Plenty of positives to take from the afternoon, more fitness gained and another step towards being ready for the season ahead.

Thanks to Orpington Vets for the game and best of luck for the rest of your pre-season.
