A brilliant evening at the Kent RFU Awards last night celebrating rugby across the county โ€” and great to see so many familiar faces and friends from clubs all over Kent.

The Rangers had plenty to celebrate too ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ† 1st XV captain Louis Keeley proudly collected the shield for winning Regional 2 South East and securing promotion after a brilliant 2025/26 season.

๐Ÿ† Vets captain Luke Drury and coach Barry Jackson picked up the huge Kent Vets Gold Cup after an outstanding cup run from the Vets this season.

๐Ÿ† Ian Sutton and Liam Frondigoun were also recognised for leading the 3rd XV to promotion into Kent Counties 4 โ€” another massive achievement for the senior section.

A great night for the club and a brilliant way to celebrate what has been a special season across all sides.

Huge thanks to Kent RFU for organising and hosting the evening ๐Ÿ‘

Well done to Seb Ellison, Josh Watson, Harry Large and Teddy Gibbons who have all been selected to play for Kent seniors in this weekends game v Cornwall

Kent Rugby Senior Men begin the defence of their Bill Beaumont County Championship title on Saturday with a challenging trip to Camborne RFC to face Cornwall, kick-off 2pm.

After securing the County Championship title for three consecutive seasons, Kent once again enter the competition with high expectations, although this yearโ€™s campaign brings a fresh look and a new challenge for the squad.

With club rugby play-offs taking place on the same weekend, player availability across the county has been affected, meaning this seasonโ€™s group has a different balance to previous years. That said, the squad still contains quality, experience and exciting talent from across Kent rugby, giving a number of players the opportunity to step onto the county stage.

Opening away in Cornwall is never an easy assignment. Camborne is one of the traditional strongholds of county rugby and Kent will expect a passionate atmosphere against proud opposition determined to make their mark in this yearโ€™s competition.

While there are some new combinations within the Kent side, county rugby has consistently shown the depth of talent across the game in the county, and the squad will travel with determination as they begin another championship campaign.

Supporters making the journey can look forward to a competitive and hard-fought encounter between two counties with strong rugby traditions.

If you want to know what Sidcup RFC is aboutโ€ฆ
itโ€™s pretty simple.

Itโ€™s Tuesday & Thursday nights under the lights.
Itโ€™s coaches who care.
Itโ€™s players improving every season.
Itโ€™s 1st XV rugby, 2nd XV rugby, 3rd XV rugby and lads just playing because they love the game.
Itโ€™s tour stories that somehow get funnier every year.
Itโ€™s people staying long after the rugby finishes.
Itโ€™s old boys still watching from the side.
Itโ€™s turning up for your mates.

Weโ€™re not a cheque-book club.
We donโ€™t do fake promises.
And we definitely donโ€™t take ourselves too seriously.

But we do:
๐Ÿป laugh a lot
๐Ÿ’ฅ compete hard
๐ŸŽฅ analyse games
๐Ÿ‰ develop players
๐Ÿฉน have cracking physios and an actual club doctor
๐ŸšŒ go on ridiculous tours
๐Ÿ‘Š create memories youโ€™ll still be talking about in 20 years
๐Ÿ“‹ have managers making sure you actually know where youโ€™re meant to be and what colour kit youโ€™re wearing

We want to compete hard, improve players and win rugby matches โ€” while actually enjoying it.

And whether youโ€™ve played National League rugby, Counties rugby, colts rugby or havenโ€™t picked up a ball in yearsโ€ฆ thereโ€™s a place for you here.

Regional 1 rugby. Counties rugby. Social rugby. Vets rugby.
Whatever your levelโ€ฆ just come and be part of it.

Because honestlyโ€ฆ
โ€œHow can you not be romantic about rugby?โ€ ๐ŸŽฌ

Training starts soon.

After securing promotion Sidcup RFC head into Regional 1 South East for 2026/27 โ€” and itโ€™s a division packed full of clubs, grounds and rivalries the Rangers havenโ€™t crossed paths with in years.

Some fixtures bring back memories of old battles.
In both Northampton O.S. and Old Northamptonian's RFC pretty sure we have never played them in league rugby

Thereโ€™ll be plenty of fun-bus trips over the river next season, some proper old-school away days, new grounds to visit, familiar faces to reconnect withโ€ฆ and thankfully one fixture that can be done on the 321 bus down the road!.

Itโ€™s a league full of history, tradition, big clubs and fresh opportunities โ€” exactly the kind of challenge you want after earning promotion.

A new level.
A new cast.
