A very emotional day for us today.
I have been training Mick for over 10 years now and he felt he was finally ready to hang the gloves up!
An end to an era but not to our friendship. We will miss him greatly down here but know he will still be popping in for a catch up!
Thanks for all the laughs over the decade mate, it’s been an absolute pleasure!! See you soon

Honnneeyyy, I’mmm hooommmmeeeee

After another 4 months of being outside it is such a good feeling reopening the doors again today.
We just wanted to say, once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has supported us throughout and braved the rain, wind and snow!!
We’ve had a little revamp of the studio and some new bits of equipment, we can’t wait for you all to see it again.

Many of us hear the words “engage your core” but do you actually know how to do it?

To engage your core, simply think about pulling your belly button in towards your spine and up towards your ribs or imagine stopping a wee in mid flow!

If you are unsure if it’s correct follow these steps:
- lay on your back, legs bent, feet flat on the floor.
- find your hip bone and place two fingers just inside of the boney part that sticks out either side.
- take in a deep breathe and at the top of the breathe either pull the belly button in and up or hold that wee mid flow.
That’s your core you’ve just felt engaged!

Throughout March we will be continuing our talk on posture whilst we are all still preparing to get back to some sort of normality.
The foam roller, in our opinion, is the most underrated piece of equipment you find in the gym (generally tucked away in a corner somewhere).
We will be uploading a few videos in the coming weeks on how to use a foam roller and what the benefits of it are.
They aren’t expensive and take up next to no room so, If you can, get online and order one ready for the videos we will be posting!

If you already own one and have any questions then feel free to get in touch.

There are great benefits to being flexible. Especially when we are talking about posture and reducing the risk of injuries.

Research suggests that it takes a minimum of 21 days to induce a habit, so why not try and stretch every in February with us and form a healthy new habit for the new year!

We won’t bore you with the science, but you need to stretch everyday to improve flexibility. Due to the current situation, this is especially important as many people are still working from home.

Check out our quick mobility video we posted back in October to get you started. We will be posting a few new stretches every Monday throughout February to help you progress and increase your flexibility.

All you need is 10 minutes of your day and something comfy to kneel on to begin with.

Happy new year!
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us this year by coming down to train at the studio and outside. We really do appreciate it.
It’s been the hardest year for us all and we can’t thank you enough.

Let’s hope for a healthier and happier 2021 and For now we will continue to enjoy the fresh outdoors.

We are finally back open and so excited to be back inside the studio again offering one to one and small group sessions, all socially distanced.

We will also be continuing our online bespoke plans and coaching.

If you are unsure on how to get back into your gym routine, make sure you speak to a professional before getting started again, even try and get a plan set up or better yet give us a message and pop down to our private studio.

Siobhan started at the studio just a week before lockdown came in. She didn’t want lockdown to put a stop to her training and wanted to keep it going. We have been doing 3 sessions a week over zoom and then once we were allowed to start training outside again we combined that into the sessions as well. Siobhan has worked really hard and put in the effort to get her fitness journey underway, she still wants to keep going and this is just the start for her. She still feels there is a way to go but the progress in the pictures show how well she has done in the last few months in what was a challenging time for us all. Keep it going!

Really excited for the gym to be opening back up in under a week, however over the lockdown it’s been really enjoyable being able to do it outside. Hope everyone does continue doing either, as there are lots of benefits on both. If anyone wants any more information then send us a message.
Today’s workout was
2.5km run as quick as you can
1 hill sprint
10 burpees
10 press ups to shoulder taps
10 jumping squats
10 high knees
5 rounds completed, Rest time is the walk back down the hill
Then 2.5km run back home
