What a weekend over in South Wales the team had!
Someone left the latch open on the asylum and the boys escaped over the bridge and starting flinging wooden sticks everywhere across the woodlands of Pentref Bowmen! 😅

British Field Archery Championships, what a course laid on by Tosh & his team, the marked day was challenging, the unmarked day was exciting, the midges. The midges could go buzz off!

Tom gave a good fight to defend his 3rd place finish from last year and take 3rd away from Mark on the second day, not by much though Mark was nipping at his heels a few targets along the way.

Chris had a cracking weekend with Georgie, John & Len, a rag tag bunch of AFB archers. Chris came away with a nice gold coloured piece of tin in the “Veteran” Flatbow category…don’t we all aspire to be Veterans like him someday?? 👀😅

All in all a good weekend shooting, having fun and making friends. After all, isn’t that what archery is all about?

For now, the boys have been lured back in to their cells with chocolate biscuits and Whisky, to be let out and next weekend down in Ashford - someone warn the Priory!!! 🤣

Deer Park Archers 3D championships this weekend, Mark, Chris and Tom all ventured up into the heart of Gloucestershire to take on a very challenging and technical course.

Lots of fun and laughter, shooting groups all were a good laugh, lots of teaching moments and time for reflection.

After some tough competition Mark came away with Silver in the Longbow Gents open category, a well deserved medal and we can’t wait for the next competition the VB attack next, with the same level of determination, resilience & positivity!

Chris & Mark popped up the A3 yesterday to help get the 3D squad ready for competition in America later this year 😏🤪
We’re confident if they keep their collective noses to the grindstone they can have some serious success 😎😂

Awesome seeing everyone as always, great to have the opportunity to learn from some of the best guys out there doing it & now the three of us are going to be training hard for Deerpark in a fortnights time ☺️

Vanguard Bowmen took their first full team outing to the Welsh 3D championships hosted by Pentref Bowmen this weekend and what a stunning weekend it was!

Sunshine and laughter was the element of the trip, we all had our downs whilst shooting, whether that be broken arrows from the rebar in the legs of the animal or silly distance judging mistakes.

Everyone had great shooting groups an can’t wait to shoot with you all again!

Either way, Mark, Chris & Tom all enjoyed a weekend with friends - old and new, the Vanping crew had a great evening round the campfire toasting marshmallows and straightening arrows with Rob Twigg, Sophie Twigg & also Charlotte Hawley & Paul Honour

We also had the chance to meet and shoot with Trad_Sniper at his first 3D field championships, great shooting dude you absolutely smashed it!!

And while Tom was away chasing glory t’p north, other founding members, Mark & Chris, were chasing the sunshine down south!

We love getting out and about and getting as much practice in as we can!
It’s really important to us that our Archers can experience and understand the benefits of shooting as often as they can in whatever conditions may present.

Because as Tom has experienced this weekend…come rain or shine, come hell or high water, come wind or gale….the Competition must go on and you can only win it…if you’re in it!

Vanguard Bowmen are on the scene!

Founding member took a short (like hell it was!) trip up the M6 to Kendal Bowmen’s 3D competition this weekend.

An interesting course laid out with considerable challenges from various speeds of wind gusts coming up the valley, but enjoyable nonetheless!

Persevering, Tom shot a great score of 411 earning him the first Gold Medal this year for himself but also the first Gold Medal won by a Vanguard Bowmen Archer! What an achievement!

We can’t wait to see more bling come our archers way this year as we attend all the competitions we have lined up, you’ll all be fed up of hearing our names called at the medals table! 😂

First day where the founding members could get together in our new club merch down at the range for a spot of WA24 Field practice.

Navy blue was an excellent choice of colour for the gilet and it feels good to be showing off the badge that we all had an input in designing!

Like a Phoenix, we’re rising from the ashes, to lead the way in advancing Field and 3D Archery!
