Voe & District Agricultural Show (02.08.25)

Our 2025 showing season kicked off in the sunshine at our local agricultural show yesterday.

Freya and Hollydell Rannoch won their FR class.

Rannoch also took excellent care of Hazel in the LR class where she showed off her very best ‘up downs’!

Ruby and Grutness Flaxin won the turnout and a competitive LR class before going on to win Performance Champion 🏆

Congratulations to all the other prize winners and thanks to the show organisers.

Whalsay Riding Club Show (08.09.2024)

We rounded off our showing season at the WRC show. Always a super relaxed day out and all three lasses and their ponies did us proud.

Ruby & Grutness Flaxin were Overall Show Champion and joint Games Champions! What an end to the most incredible season for this peerie pair 🥹🏆

Freya and Hollydell Rannoch won their ridden class… I’m completely redundant now 😂 and then went joint Champion in their section (huge well done to Annie & Billy too!)

Hazel found her competitive edge in the gymkhana games… we can watch out for 2025 😅🙈

And Auntie Emmie beat Mam (by less that a second) to steal top spot in the adults handy pony 😱😂 definite rematch required next year!

Thanks to the WRC committee and wir instructors who work so hard with the bairns all summer! 💚

A show with a view being hosted by the Budge Family at Bigton Farm! A long day but some excellent results for our peerie team!

Ruby & Grutness Flaxin are on a roll and following on from their success at Blair last weekend were Overall Show Champion this weekend. Ruby says ‘Flaxie is my champion’. Me too Ruby!

Freya & Hollydell Rannoch had a super day winning their Young handler and Ridden to go Lead Rein Showing Champion and went on to be Reserve Overall Champion.

Hazel & Redsand Fanta won the Megan Chapman trophy for most points without a 1st prize. Won by Freya in 2022 and Ruby in 2023 Hazel was delighted to find her sisters names on her first ever trophy and insisted on taking it to bed with her!

Grutness Flaxin got us off to a great start winning the long reining class first thing!
Ruby and Grutness Flaxin were also 2nd place LR and 1st place Young Handler.

Hazel and Redsand Fanta were 2nd place beginners LR and 6th place young handler.
Fanta also placed 3rd in the LR class with Freya

Freya, looked after by Hollydell Rannoch made her debut in the first ridden class. Their practice paid off and they did a super show to earn 1st place and go on to win Reserve Ridden Champion!

A super day of showing with excellent weather and results!
Freya & Hollydell Rannoch, kindly on loan from Mari & Julie Williamson enjoyed their first show together and went Overall Performance Champion as well as wins in the turnout and young handler.
Ruby and Grutness Flaxin were hot on their heels taking Reserve Performance Champion.
Hazel enjoyed her first ever time out showing with Redsand Fanta looking after her perfectly. The youngest by a good few years she was delighted with 6th place in a Lead Rein class of 13 (and a PINK rosette)!
