No need to be a pro, no worries about training hard, just turn up, play and have fun! ALL players are welcome, regardless of ability level or experience! 🤩

We've been a bit quiet on our socials lately but that doesn't mean we've been quiet on the field! A busy summer of tournaments, training & even a BBC Leicester radio feature has been taking place at Shepshed Aries! 🎙♈

Over the summer our women have been practising their skills in the East Goscote United FC & Coalville Town Women tournaments, alongside playing a 7v7 midweek friendly against Saffron Dynamo Ladies FC and of course getting stuck into our Tuesday & Thursday night sessions! 🌞⚽️

Exciting times ahead for our club as we will be playing in the Leicestershire Womens and Girls League Social 6s for the first time in September! 🏆

If you are interested in getting involved, players of ALL ability levels and experience are welcome at our club, whether you've never kicked a ball before or you just can't get enough football in your week! We work with beginners, those returning to football after a break, and those who just want to play more than they currently do 🤩

Tuesday Social Sessions - ALL ABILITIES WELCOME

Did someone say tournament runners up?! 🤩

On Sunday our women took part in their first ever competitive outing and exceeded all expectations when we found ourselves picking up silver medals at the East Goscote United FC tournament!

We couldn't be more proud, turning up to our first ever competitive football event with only 8 (and then down to 7!) players, with new players that have only been training together for a few weeks, playing 120 minutes of football in the heat (the sunburn is real now 😅☀️) and coming away runners up is a hugely impressive feat for Shepshed's first ever women's club! ⚽️🐏

Playing 6 games in the group stage, winning 2, drawing 3 and losing one saw Shepshed head into the semi-finals, drawing the team we'd lost 2-0 to just 5 minutes prior. A hard fought semi-final saw us win 1-0 and book our spot in the tournament final against East Goscote! Unfortunately for us our tired legs couldn't quite carry us all the way, and Goscote came out on top, well played to them! 👏

A huge well done to all players, Amy for stepping up to play in goal with no experience & making fantastic shot stops, Gracie & Zoe for denying multiple attacks & driving the ball up the pitch, Celia with her excellent through balls & pace, Tash making countless big tackles, Paige swinging in cross after cross and of course our first ever goal scorer Chantelle!! 😍

Thank you to East Goscote United FC for hosting us, to all the teams that we played against, and to those that stayed to cheer us on in the knock-out stages, a truly welcoming environment!
