🛡️ Welfare & Safeguarding Officer – Direct Point of Contact 🛡️

Forge Sports Coaching are currently seeking to appoint a Welfare/ Safeguarding Officer to act as the company's direct point of contact for all safeguarding and welfare matters, along with supporting the safety, wellbeing, and development of our players, coaches, and volunteers.

This is a vital role within our organisation, supporting children, young people, parents, coaches, and volunteers to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone involved in our programmes.

We are a community-driven company committed to providing safe, inclusive, and affordable football opportunities for children and young people across Sheffield.

🔷 The Role:
• Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding and welfare matters.
• Receive, record, and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Liaise statutory agencies, and external partners where required.
• Support players, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
• Support coaches and volunteers with safeguarding guidance.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed and kept up to date.
• Promote best practice in safeguarding children and young people and a culture of welfare-first coaching.

✅ Essential Requirements:
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
• Strong communication, organisational and confidentiality skills.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding training (if not already completed).
• Availability midweek and weekends.

⭐️ Desirable:
• Previous experience in welfare, education, youth work, or similar is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
