🚧 SKI VILLAGE REDEVELOPMENT AT RISK DUE TO ROAD ACCESS ISSUES 🚧

Plans to transform the old Sheffield Ski Village into a £20m outdoor leisure hub could be under threat — with council officers warning that delays to road access might “jeopardise the entire Parkwood Springs programme.”

The main issue? A low railway bridge on Douglas Road restricts lorry and coach access. A new access road connecting Oakham Drive and Vale Road has now been proposed — but any further delays or rising costs could put the project at risk.

The council hopes to make Parkwood Springs a major leisure destination, with walking and cycling routes alongside new attractions. But without the access route, the vision may stall once again.
