A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO LAURA! 🎉💪

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Laura as a PT client for over 5 years, so it’s pretty special to now be able to congratulate her on becoming a fully qualified Personal Trainer!

A few months ago, Laura decided it was time for a change. After selling her business, she took the plunge and started working towards a new career in fitness.

She qualified as a Gym Instructor earlier this year and has been taking classes here at East Coast Fitness. And now, after passing her PT exams, she is officially a qualified Personal Trainer. 👏

It’s been brilliant watching her make the change, put the work in and take on something completely new.

And the best bit…

Laura is now taking on PT clients at East Coast Fitness! 🏋️‍♀️

So, if you’re looking for some help getting fitter, stronger, losing weight, building confidence or simply getting yourself into a better routine, Laura would love to hear from you.

📩 Laura is now taking bookings.

Drop us a message or leave a comment if you’d like some more info.

Well done Laura, absolutely buzzing for you and wishing you all the best with the next chapter! ❤️

Welcome to the PT team! 💪

For lots of parents, the school holidays are brilliant.

You get to spend more time with the kids, make memories, enjoy days out, and take a break from the usual routine.

But if you're anything like me, your own routine probably takes a bit of a back seat.

Over the summer I've been keeping Max and Jessica entertained while they've been off school. We even managed a fantastic week away in the Lake District. We've been out and about, eaten out a little more than usual, and made the most of every minute.

The downside? My own routine has slipped a little.

I've not trained as much as I normally would, my meals haven't been quite as organised, and there have definitely been a few more treats than usual.

And you know what?

That's absolutely fine.

The holidays are there to be enjoyed.

But with the kids heading back to school, I'm actually looking forward to getting back into a bit of routine again. And I know I'm not the only one.

After spending weeks looking after everyone else, now is the perfect time to spend a little time looking after yourself.

That doesn't mean living in the gym or following a strict diet.

It could simply be getting back to a fitness class, going for a walk after the school run, or planning a few healthy meals for the week ahead.

The key is not to try and change everything overnight.

Start small.

Drink a bit more water.

Move a little more.

Get to bed a bit earlier.

Those simple habits soon add up, and before you know it, you're feeling fitter, more energised, and back into a routine that works for you.

Remember, looking after yourself isn't selfish. When you feel better, everyone around you benefits too.

If you've been thinking about getting back into exercise, now is a great time to start.

We're currently offering a 7-Day Trial for just £10.

You can use the gym and attend as many fitness classes as you like during those 7 days. It's an easy, no-pressure way to see what we're all about, try the facilities, meet the team, and find a routine that works for you.

If you'd like to give it a go, just leave a comment below, we'd love to help you get started.

If you're a runner, adding more miles isn't always the answer.

One of the best things you can do to improve your running is... lift weights.

Strength training can help you:
💪 Run more efficiently
💪 Reduce your risk of injury
💪 Build stronger muscles and joints
💪 Improve your endurance and performance

Whether you're training for your first 5K or your next half marathon, a couple of strength sessions each week could make a bigger difference than you think.

In this week's article, I explain why every runner should include strength training as part of their routine.

New article in the Sunderland Echo 📰

Joining a gym used to be all about the equipment.

Now, it's just as much about the people.

More and more, we're seeing that the biggest factor in long term success isn't the latest workout or the perfect diet. It's having people around you who encourage you, keep you accountable and make fitness something you actually enjoy.

That's why community is becoming one of the biggest fitness trends.

In this week's column, I talk about why exercising with others can help you stay motivated, build confidence and keep going long after the initial excitement has worn off.

Because getting fit is easier when you don't have to do it alone.

New article on Yahoo News UK 📰

Protein is everywhere at the moment.

Protein yoghurts. Protein cereals. Protein chocolate. Even protein water!

But do we really need all these high protein products, or is it just clever marketing?

In my latest article, I look at why protein has become such a big trend, who actually benefits from eating more of it, and whether these products are worth spending your money on.

The answer might surprise you.

This is what East Coast Fitness is really all about ❤️

Last weekend we had around 25 members over to our house for our annual summer get together.

There were a few beers, plenty of food, loads of laughs, and some brilliant company.

It got me thinking…

People often join a gym because they want to lose weight, get fitter, or build muscle.

But what keeps them coming back is usually something completely different.

Community.

It is knowing people will notice if you are not there.

It is having someone to train alongside.

It is catching up over a coffee after class.

It is making friends who encourage you, support you, and celebrate your wins with you.

Some of the people in these photos first met at one of our boot camp classes. Now they go for walks together, meet up outside the gym, and have become genuine friends.

You cannot measure that on a set of scales.

Yes, we help people get fitter.

Yes, we help people get stronger.

But I honestly think the community we’ve built is something even more special.

If you’ve been thinking about joining a gym but feel nervous about walking through the door, come and give us a try.

We offer a 7 day trial for just £10, giving you unlimited access to our outdoor boot camps, fitness classes, and private gym.

Who knows… you might just find your people.

A big thank you to Emma for putting together tonight’s Boot Camp workout to celebrate Colin and Amanda’s 26th anniversary.

It was a fun session and a great way to mark the occasion.

Congratulations to you both, and thanks for being such a valued part of the East Coast Fitness community. We hope you’ve had a brilliant day together. ❤️

Here’s to many more happy years! 🥂💪
