MATCH REPORT — SEAHAM COAST NE vs SEATON CAREW SPARTANS

Seaham Coast NE 1–5 Seaton Carew Spartans

The lads kicked off our season this morning against a sensational Seaton Carew Spartans side, and as we found out during pre-season, we couldn’t have asked for a tougher test to start the campaign.

Seaton came flying out of the blocks and moved the ball around extremely well, making us work very hard out of possession. They were clinical in front of goal and raced into a five-goal lead, leaving the lads understandably frustrated at half-time.

At the break, the message was simple. Forget the first half and treat the second 25 minutes as a brand new game.

And that’s exactly what the lads did.

The response was excellent. The work rate went up another level, the passing started to click and, most importantly, the boys showed plenty of character and refused to let their heads drop.

We began creating some really good passages of play and eventually got the reward we deserved. Alex produced a superb piece of play to find Dylan, who kept his composure and calmly slotted the ball home to get us on the scoresheet.

We won the second half and also saw some outstanding individual performances.

Jude was an absolute brute in midfield, taking control of the middle of the park and dominating with his strength, determination and work rate.

Alex was super aggressive and sharp, constantly putting pressure on Seaton and helping to stop their attacks.

Jacob’s work rate was unreal. He played with fire in his belly from start to finish, never giving up and battling for every single ball.

The scoreline ultimately went against us, but the second half performance was something we can take plenty of positives from. Against a very strong Seaton side, the lads showed that even when things aren’t going their way, they have the character to fight back, keep working and keep playing football.

Tomorrow we have our first ever official game, against a very good Seaton Carew Spartans who we played pre-season; so we know exactly what to expect.

But the main thing about the season starting, is the 9 lads who are turning up to play football & do it with a smile on their face, making memories.

MATCH REPORT - Hartlepool Stags Blacks vs Seaham Coast NE

A last-minute pre-season friendly ends in defeat for the lads as we struggled to find our best form in an entertaining game against a very good Stags Blacks side.

Things started positively, with Coast on top in the opening stages. We were rewarded for our good start when Alex found Dylan free in the box, and Dylan made no mistake with a composed finish. ⚽️

Unfortunately, some basic mistakes (mistakes we haven’t really seen throughout pre-season) started to creep into our game. Against a quality side like the Blacks, you get punished for those errors, and that’s exactly what happened as we went into half-time trailing.

We changed our shape at the break and looked much more solid defensively in the second half. Ethan made some excellent saves to keep the Stags at bay, while we started creating more chances of our own.

Jude went incredibly close from distance, hitting the woodwork twice, before Alex eventually found the net after being picked out brilliantly by Jude in the box. ⚽️

It wasn’t the result we wanted today, but games like this are exactly why we play pre-season friendlies. The lads got a reminder that against good teams, we have to be switched on and give 100% for the full game.

We’ll dust ourselves off, take the lessons from today and go again! 💪⚽️

A captain’s performance from Jude. His work rate in the middle of the park was outstanding, contributing at both ends of the pitch. He hit the bar and the post and was incredibly unlucky not to get the goal his overall performance deserved.

A massive thank you to Darren from Nxt-Gen Coaching.

Darren is also the manager of Hartlepool Stags Blacks, who we played tonight, and after the game he kindly invited our boys to stick around and take part in his training session.

The lads absolutely loved it and really enjoyed getting involved in some extra coaching. A special mention to Alex too, who was awarded Player of the Session! 🏆👏

Thanks again Darren for giving the boys the opportunity and making them feel so welcome. It’s massively appreciated! 🙌⚽️

Match Report - Hartlepool Stags Blacks vs Seaham Coast NE

Tonight we made the journey to Hartlepool to face a very strong Stags Blacks side who came into the game unbeaten this pre-season.

From the first whistle, both teams played some fantastic football and it was a brilliant, end-to-end game.

Seaham took the lead after some quick thinking from Jude, who played Alex through following a quick kick. Alex glanced the ball across goal and into the net to make it 1-0.

We doubled our lead shortly after through some brilliant link-up play between Jude and Josh. The ball fell to Alex, who made no mistake and smashed it home for 2-0.

The Stags never gave up and continued to push. Their pressure eventually paid off as they fought their way back into the game, including an absolute worldy of a free-kick, to bring the score level.

We started the second half exactly as we finished the first, playing some excellent team football. Louie Baxter was absolutely flying up and down the wing and the Stags simply couldn’t live with his pace and energy.

Hartlepool continued to defend brilliantly and looked dangerous on the counter, making for another closely fought half.

After some fantastic wing play, Dylan found Josh unmarked in the box, and Josh calmly finished to put Seaham back in front at 3-2.

We then found ourselves 4-2 up after a bit of Seaham luck. Jacob’s shot ricocheted around the box before falling perfectly to Dylan, who made no mistake and slotted it home.

At that point, we switched off slightly and the Stags kicked on. They piled the pressure on and had us firmly on the back foot, eventually finding themselves level with just three minutes remaining.

We changed things up, with Jacob moving into the number 9 role, and he did exactly what you’d expect from a quality striker — bringing others into play, holding the ball up and creating chances. After some fantastic footwork, Jacob saw his shot saved, but Dylan was on hand to follow up the rebound and fire home the winner with just 30 seconds left on the clock!

Alex, Jacob and Dylan were absolutely outstanding tonight, working their socks off and playing some fantastic football.

Louie was simply unplayable tonight. His pace, tenacity and work-rate caused problems all game, so much so that even the referee commented on his performance.

He worked his socks off from start to finish and thoroughly deserved the Man of the Match award. 👏🔥

18/07/26 - Match Report - Seaham Coast NE vs Bishop Auckland St Mary’s

Another early start and another outing for the lads as Seaham Coast NE made the trip down to Bishop for game number two together. ⚽️💙

The opening five minutes saw Bishop Auckland St Mary’s hold their own and ask a few questions, but Alex soon broke the deadlock after some fantastic team play followed by a brilliant individual finish.

From there, the lads really found their rhythm.

The football on show was absolutely fantastic. The passing, movement, work-rate and teamwork were outstanding, and the intensity never dropped for the full game. 👏

Even as the goals started to come, the lads remained disciplined, stuck to their positions and continued to move the ball around as a team right until the final whistle.

A special mention to Ethan and the defence for securing their first clean sheet. 🧤👏 In high-scoring games, defensive performances can sometimes go unnoticed, but the effort and concentration at the back deserves huge credit.

There were also some fantastic assists throughout the game, with the lads showing that this team is all about creating chances for each other rather than playing as individuals.

Normally we pick an individual, but today it was impossible.

The team effort from start to finish was exceptional, and every single lad played their part.

11/07/26 - Match Report - Seaham Coast NE vs Prudhoe Youth FC Blacks

A long trip to Blakelaw this morning saw the lads take to the pitch for their first outing together as a team and what an introduction it was! 💪⚽️

We couldn’t have asked for a worse start, finding ourselves 1-0 down after just 60 seconds as Prudhoe moved the ball around brilliantly without us even getting a touch.

But the lads responded in style.

Up stepped our captain Jude, who unleashed an absolute rocket from distance into the top bins! And I mean what a hit! The first ever goal for the NE and it was an absolute worldie ! 👏

Not long after, we turned the game around. Some lovely midfield play saw Jacob hold the ball up before releasing a perfectly weighted pass to Dylan, who calmly slotted home to make it 2-1.

The second half saw us looking much more settled and asking plenty more questions of Prudhoe. However, we were caught on the counter and they brought it back to 2-2.

The lads didn’t let it affect them, though, and with Jude dominating the midfield, we continued to push forward.

Some great work from Josh opened things up, feeding Jacob, who once again provided the assist this time for Alex, who unleashed another absolute rocket from distance! 🚀 3-2!

Prudhoe refused to give up and continued to play some fantastic football. They kept coming and eventually caught us sleeping to level things up again at 3-3.

Prudhoe kept asking questions but thankfully we had Ethan between the sticks!

An absolute man mountain in goal, Ethan was on fire throughout and pulled off some outstanding saves to keep us in the game. A fully deserved Joint MOTM. 🧤🔥

And alongside him, Jude produced the midfield maestro performance I’ve come to love from the moment I met the lad a year ago.

A real captain’s performance. 💪 He covered every blade of grass, won battles, drove us forward and produced some fantastic passes from deep.

18/08/26 - Match Report - Seaham Coast NE vs Seaham AFC

A fantastic performance from the Coast boys sees them come away with the win in an entertaining preseason friendly! 🖤🤍

The first half started cautiously, with the lads moving the ball well and playing some lovely passing football as they looked for an opening.

The breakthrough eventually came when Jude released Louie down the right. Louie delivered a wicked cross into the box, causing chaos in front of goal, and Dylan was on hand to smash the ball home! ⚽️

Once we had broken the deadlock, we really found our rhythm. Some brilliant wing play from Alex created the opportunity for our second, as he picked out Jordan in the middle. Jordan kept his composure to calmly place the ball into the net for his first ever goal for the NE! ⚽️👏

As we pushed forward looking to put the game to bed before half time, we were caught out by a sensational counter-attack which saw Seaham AFC pull one back.

The second half was much more disciplined, with the boys returning to our passing game and keeping possession for long spells.

We eventually put the game beyond doubt when Jude found Dylan in space, and he made no mistake with the finish to grab his second of the afternoon! ⚽️

A brilliant game, a great performance and plenty of positives to take from the boys!

23/07/26 - Match Report - Seaham Coast NE vs Hartlepool Stags Pinks

Our first midweek game for the lads saw us take on Coach Ross and his Sunday side and we knew from the start this was going to be anything but a walk in the park!

The Stags came out with great discipline in the first half, frustrating us and quickly snuffing out any chances we managed to create. We found ourselves 2-0 down at half time, with plenty of work to do.

The message at half time was simple. More intensity and better passing in the final third. We knew that was going to be the key to breaking down a stubborn Stags defence.

A few changes at the break made an instant impact, and we finally started getting the ball down and playing our football.

Within five minutes of the restart, we got ourselves back into the game. Some brilliant work from the front line created the opening, with Jacob finishing superbly. The celebration said it all pure fire, passion and determination to get ourselves back into the game! 🔥

The Stags keeper was absolutely outstanding and pulled off save after save, keeping us at bay when we could have added more.

Dylan was given the nod to move up front in the second half and showed exactly what a natural goalscorer he is. He grabbed a fantastic hat-trick, with Jacob providing some brilliant assists along the way! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

In midfield, Alex absolutely dominated the game. His energy, fire and determination were there for all to see, proving exactly why he is such a special player at this level. He capped off a brilliant performance with a superb solo goal! 🔥

A special mention also goes to our new signing Jordan, who made his first competitive appearance for the Coast tonight. He looked absolutely class from start to finish, and we’re absolutely over the moon to have him in the black and white!
