COULD YOUR BUSINESS HELP CREATE A PLACE TO BELONG?

Home education is a positive and intentional choice for many families. For others, it can follow anxiety, unmet additional needs, difficult experiences in school or a prolonged struggle to access mainstream education.

Whatever brings a family to home education, every young person deserves opportunities to:

* Build friendships and feel part of a community
* Develop confidence and a sense of belonging
* Take part in sport, creative activities and new experiences
* Discover their strengths in a welcoming and understanding environment

Without accessible local opportunities, some young people can become increasingly isolated. Parents and carers can also find themselves carrying the responsibility for education, social connection and personal development with very little support.

Active Futures Foundation CIC is building a welcoming Home Education Hub in Wigan where young people can connect, create, move, discover and grow.

We have deliberately kept our fees affordable for families, but we need the support of local businesses to help us sustain and develop the Hub, subsidise places where cost is a barrier and provide a wider range of meaningful experiences.

We are inviting businesses to become Founding Partners:

▪️ £500 – Community Partner
▪️ £1,000 – Impact Partner
▪️ £2,500 – Founding Sponsor

In return, businesses will receive recognition, social-value impact updates and opportunities to visit the Hub and see the difference their support is making.

We are not looking for one company to fund everything. We want to build a network of local businesses that believe every young person deserves connection, opportunity and hope for the future.

ONE WEEK TO GO!

This time next week, we'll be opening the doors for the first official session of our Active Futures Home Education Hub.

We're really excited to see the community beginning to take shape and there are still places available for families who would like to join us.

If you've been following our posts but haven't quite taken the plunge yet, you don't need to commit to a full block.

You can simply book one session and give us a try.

Come along, meet us, meet some other Home Ed families and let your young person experience Active Futures for themselves. The more people we can get through the door, the better the atmosphere.

Expect opportunities to get active, create, make connections, try new things and follow interests, without trying to recreate school.

BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN!

We’re really excited to announce that bookings for the Active Futures Home Education Hub are now open to all families.

Following priority booking for families on our mailing list, we’re opening our remaining places for our first six-week block, starting Monday 14th September.

The Hub runs Mondays and Fridays for Home Educated young people aged 6–16, with the option to attend:

⭐ Half Day – £20
⭐ Full Day – £30
⭐ Hub Membership – for families wanting to attend regularly

Active Futures isn’t about recreating school.

It’s a place where young people can meet others, make friends, get active, be creative, try new things and explore their own interests in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Whether your young person wants to come regularly or you’d simply like to try one session and see how they get on, you’re very welcome.

OUR NEW BOOKING SYSTEM IS LIVE!

Another big step towards the launch of the Active Futures Home Education Hub on Monday 14th September!

Everyone on our mailing list has now been sent the booking link and has priority access until 11:59pm Thursday to choose and secure their sessions. If you have emailed to reserve a place, could you please reserve it through the new booking system.

From Friday morning, we’ll be sharing the booking link publicly and opening any remaining availability to everyone.

Our first six-week block will run every Monday and Friday from 14th September – 23rd October, with:

⭐ Limited Hub Memberships

IT’S OFFICIAL… THE ACTIVE FUTURES HOME EDUCATION HUB IS LAUNCHING!

After months of listening, planning, meeting families and running our taster morning, we're delighted to confirm that the Active Futures Home Education Hub will officially open on Monday 14th September.

The Hub will run every Monday and Friday, creating a welcoming space for young people aged 6–16 to:

* Connect and build friendships
* Explore interests and creativity
* Learn through movement and activity
* Develop confidence and independence
* Discover new experiences and future pathways

And today, we've taken another exciting step...

Priority booking emails have now gone out to everyone who has previously expressed an interest.

Those families are getting first access to our initial six-week block, including our limited Hub Membership places, before we open remaining availability more widely.

Today we got to bring our vision to life. 💛🖤

After weeks of talking about Building Something Different, today we welcomed young people and their families to our Home Education Taster Morning at Active Futures.

We built marshmallow towers, got creative with natural materials, headed outdoors for some orienteering, tackled challenges, worked together, met new people and, most importantly, had some fun!

What we loved most was seeing young people of different ages getting involved in their own way, some straight away, others at their own pace, with parents and carers getting involved too.

This is what we want Active Futures to be about.

Connection. Creativity. Confidence. Community.

A huge thank you to every family who trusted us enough to come along and be part of our first taster morning. We really hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Today wasn't about showing people a finished product. It was about taking another step towards building something with our local Home Education community.

And we're only just getting started. 💛🖤

Everything is set up and we’re really looking forward to welcoming our young people to Active Futures tomorrow for our FREE Home Education Taster Morning.

After weeks of talking about Building Something Different, tomorrow we finally get to bring it to life.

A morning to meet new people, try new things, get creative, have some fun and experience what Active Futures is all about.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors. 🙌
