Kalah Yorkshire Simple but effective self defence in Scarborough. Techniques stress-tested against real resistance.

Kalah Yorkshire focuses on practical self defence that is applicable to the local area: hand-to-hand combat, knife defence, anti-bullying workshops, defence against sexual assault, decision-making and training simulations for security and police forces. All welcome, but a strong mentality and willingness to learn is a must.

In our Friday evening Kalah Yorkshire teens class, I asked the boys to see how long they could hold this position before giving up, and they lasted 20 - 30 seconds. Then, we spoke about how a positive mindset is scientifically proven to produce better results. I asked them to try holding the position again, and told them this time, they'll not only beat the time, but double it. They lasted over a minute!
