What a morning of football for all the Saxilby Sharks yesterday! 🦈💛🖤

We started the morning with a hot and humid training session, with the Sharks sharpening up their 1v1s and shooting skills. 💪🏻⚽️

🏆 Player of the Week — Rory 🏆

Rory picked up this week’s Player of the Week trophy for his continued consistency, always listening and being super coachable in everything the coaches ask of him every week. Another fantastic week, Rory! 👏🏻🖤💛

After training, some of the the boys took on the Saxilbees in a local friendly, with both teams putting on an amazing display of determination, teamwork and skill. There were goals galore and some fantastic football on show from both sides! 👏🏻⚽️

A few special mentions from the game, with Marshall scoring his first ever goal, Zac making his first ever appearance in a Sharks game, Kobe scoring an absolute worldy of a free kick, and Freddie bagging a load of goals! ⚽️🔥

A massive thank you to all the coaches, parents and everyone at the Saxilbees for making it such a great morning of football. 🤝🏻

This week’s 🌟 Player of the Week 🌟

👏 Freddie – Freddie had a fantastic session from start to finish! He showed excellent sole rolling throughout the ball mastery activities, made some brilliant tackles to win the ball back for his team, and was a fantastic teammate, encouraging those around him and working hard for the team all session. A thoroughly deserved Player of the Week! 💙🦈

⚽️ Another fantastic session yesterday for our Saxilby Sharks! 🦈

This week’s 🌟 Players of the Week 🌟

👏 Dougie – A fantastic session from Dougie, who stepped up to the main group and took everything in his stride! He put in an exceptional effort to help his team to victory in our Hungry Hippos game and worked brilliantly during the close dribbling drill, showing great control and determination. A well-deserved Player of the Week! 💙

👏 Spencer – Our birthday boy from last week had a brilliant session! Spencer showed off his silky skills during the ball mastery activities and listened really well to the coaches during the tails game. He did a fantastic job protecting both his ball and his tail, using some excellent footwork throughout. Brilliant work, Spencer! 🎉⚽️

👏 Isaac – One of the smallest players in the group, but definitely one of the bravest! Isaac continues to show fantastic determination and a real desire to win the ball back for his team, battling for every challenge and fighting for every ball. The improvement we’ve seen over the last few sessions has been incredible, and it’s brilliant to see his confidence growing week by week. A thoroughly deserved Player of the Week! 🦈💙

⚽️ Another fantastic session for our Saxilby Sharks U5s & U6 Development Squad! 🦈

This week, the players were challenged to test themselves in lots of exciting 1v1 battles, encouraging them to be brave on the ball and compete against opponents. We also worked on plenty of ball mastery, helping everyone become more confident with their touches and improving their control. It was brilliant to see so much energy, effort and determination from all of the players! 💪

🌟 Players of the Week 🌟

👏 Henry – A really fantastic session, particularly during the Sharks drills towards the end. Henry demonstrated excellent ball shielding, using his body brilliantly to protect the ball and making it very difficult for defenders to win it back. Outstanding work!

👏 Freddie – Freddie is always incredibly consistent and hard-working, but today he took his game to another level. His determination, battling and tackling in the 1v1 drills were exceptional, showing real confidence and competitiveness throughout. Brilliant effort!

🌟 Special Mention 🌟

🦈 Coach Rosie – A big thank you to our visitor, Coach Rosie, who was brilliant throughout today’s session. She demonstrated excellent technique during the ball mastery activities, giving the players a fantastic example to follow, and was more than willing to get stuck into the Sharks drills towards the end of the session. The children loved having her involved – thank you, Rosie! 💙👏

The future is bright. The future is Saxilby. 🦈⚽

Fifteen Saxilby Sharks U6s players headed to Welton today to take part in a brilliant 6-a-side tournament, with the squad split into two teams – Tiger Sharks and Bull Sharks.

The boys were outstanding from start to finish, scoring some brilliant goals, working hard for each other, showing great teamwork, battling for every ball and playing some fantastic football.

The Tiger Sharks started the tournament in style, finding the back of the net time and time again in their opening game. They went on to face some very strong opposition and continued to impress, showing great determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the day. ⚽🦈

The Bull Sharks also had a fantastic tournament, reaching the semi-finals before coming up against a very strong Greenbank side. Reaching the last four was a brilliant achievement, and the boys should be incredibly proud of their efforts. 👏

A huge thank you to Welton Football Club for hosting such a well-organised tournament. The boys represented Saxilby Sharks brilliantly, and we’re incredibly proud of every single one of them. 💙

A lovely way to finish the day was bringing the Saxilby Sharks and Saxilby Tigers together for a team photo. One club, one community, and plenty of smiles after a brilliant day of football. 🦈🐯⚽

⚽️ Another fantastic session for our Saxilby Sharks U5s! 🦈

This week, we continued introducing the children to battling for the ball and competing against other players. The focus was on using the skills they’ve been learning to beat a defender before striking the ball, and it was brilliant to see their confidence growing throughout the session. 💪

🌟 Players of the Week: James & Henry 🌟

👏 James – A fantastic return to training! He came back into the group full of confidence, worked incredibly hard throughout the session, and it was clear he’d been practising while he was away. Brilliant effort!

👏 Henry – Henry continues to set the standard with his consistency week after week. He was outstanding in the 1v1 drills, showing great determination, confidence and skill, and really dominated throughout.

🌟 Special Mentions 🌟

🦈 Milo & Marshall – Both showed an incredible never-give-up attitude, battling for every ball and working tirelessly from start to finish.

🦈 Zac – Showed fantastic perseverance during the ball mastery session. He kept trying a very tricky skill and, through determination and resilience, succeeded. A brilliant example of hard work paying off! 👏💙

U6s Training back at the Pav last Saturday! ⚽️

With another tournament approaching, the boys continued to work on developing their passing, movement and finishing. We focused on moving the ball wide from central areas, finishing in the box, and also looked at attacking and defending corners.

The boys were reminded of the importance of listening and concentrating during the drills, and they responded brilliantly, showing great teamwork, technique and improvement throughout the session. 💪

🌟 Player of the Week: Lucas 🌟

Lucas showed fantastic determination, working hard throughout the session despite feeling under the weather. He gave everything in every drill and showed off some of his trademark finishes too! A brilliant effort, well deserved! 👏🦈
