Colourful September milk churns for a lovely wedding over the weekend!
I can't tell you how nice it was to be setting up flowers at a normal temperature! Not sweating in 30°+ heat!

I love these urns, they are so colourful, bright and cheerful. With trailing amaranthus and some amazing hops from Ella | Dorset Flower Farmer | DIY Weddings little nod to the time of year without it looking too autumnal.

Lots of lovely flowers from Liz Barrah and South West Flower Grower Collective to top up my own.

Definitely a favourite of the year and my final wedding of the year! 🎉

2026 wedding season has been a challenge but I've loved it! Roll on 2027!

How have we got to the time of year to start sowing next year's seeds?

I will be sowing some lupin seeds this weekend, this year they were very fleeting with the heat, it was definitely a blink and you miss it crop this year but hopefully next year's spring weather will be kinder! 🙏

I have got a couple of white and blue to sow but I'm sure I will get a few random yellows! 😂

I managed to avoid the lupin aphid this year, handed the baton over to Sophie Sophie | Tarnwell Farm
🤣. But I will do what I have done with these ones and spread the plants out far away from each other. Having had an apocalyptic lupin aphid infestation a few years ago that spread to the grass paths it was like a moving mat of aphids 🤢 so I learnt to not plant them all together!

Thanks Liz Barrah for the dahlias and yellow marigold to add to my collection. The sunflowers have just been enjoying the weather so much and I'm glad something has, these arrangements have procut white lite, procut orange astra rose and astra gold in it along with some dinky Marleys.

For the lovely Susie and her new husband Andrew who got married at West Barn Lodge on Saturday.

Neutrals with a hint of burnt orange to match the bridesmaids dresses and a toffee coloured roses was the brief.
Some lovely orange dahlias and peach colour asters from Liz Barrah and some amazing lisianthus from Eva Šteinrēdere along with some beautiful cappuccino roses from Flowervision Southampton finished it all off.

All tied off with the lovely ribbons from Sharon - silk ribbons plant dyed / Gifts inspired by Nature

A colour palette that strays away from my usual but I love it! 😍

Collaboration is the best!

Huge thank you to Liz Barrah along with the South West Flower Grower Collective including Sarah Flower Farmer and Eva Šteinrēdere for helping me this weekend on DIY buckets and a wedding.

What I have learnt about flower farming is you cannot grow everything, things don't go to plan, dahlias have a massive tantrum about the heat and only grow 3 leaves, things get eaten🦌so leaning on other local flower farms is needed and I'm so lucky to be surrounded by lots of them!

Look at all these beautiful flowers heading out this weekend for a DIY order! The reason I grew marigolds this year and I'm so pleased I did because they are absolutely loving their life in the heat just pumping out blooms!
