Cracking afternoon of Masters rugby today against Ashton Bears and the North Wales Buccaneers.
Physical, competitive, and full of proper rugby spirit — exactly what we’re about.

Standout shifts from the lads:

- Scott — fearless at fullback, threw himself into everything against some big units.
- The Triangle of Movement: Billy H, Wildy & Foz — constant energy, smart lines, kept us rolling forward all game.
- Martin & Andy — strong debuts, loads of promise, only going to grow from here.
- Phil — caught the ball (miracles happen), made big carries and some quality tags. Next time we’ll get him working more through the middle.

I didn’t see much ball in attack today, but defensively I got around and did my bit.

Massive thanks for Portico Vine ARLFC Masters for being awesome hosts

Overall — class effort from everyone.
We faced some seriously experienced players and held our own with pride, graft, and Roosters spirit all over the pitch.

The Masters teamsheet is locked in for the Portico Festival this Saturday — and we’ve got two brand‑new Roosters taking the field.

A massive welcome to Martin and Andy, who will be stepping out in the Roosters kit for the very first time. Big moment for both lads and a proud one for the club.

The festival kicks off at 12:30, with our first game expected to get underway around 13:30.
If you’re free, get yourself over to Portico, shout the lads on, and enjoy what’s shaping up to be a fantastic day of Masters rugby league.

Plenty of laughs, plenty of spirit, and plenty of Roosters heart on show.

Our Roosters Masters Men are heading over to Portico this weekend for what’s shaping up to be a brilliant festival of rugby.

We’ll be taking on Ashton Bears and the North Wales Buccaneers — two tough, honest Masters sides who always bring a great spirit to the day.
The lads are fired up, ready to rip in, and buzzing for another run-out in the blue.

It’s set to be a cracking day out with plenty of rugby, plenty of laughs, and plenty of Roosters heart on show.

🏉🔥 RUGBY FESTIVAL – 6TH JUNE 🔥🏉

We’re counting down to what promises to be an amazing day of women’s masters rugby, fun and fundraising.

The day kicks off with our curtain raiser match:
🏉 Under 12 Girls
⏰ 10:30 KO
📍 Thatto Heath Crusaders vs Warrington Girls

Then from 12pm we’ll have Women’s Masters Rugby featuring 10 teams from across the game, all officiated by female referees 🙌

The festival finishes with a huge team relay & 🍺 race to round off the day 🏃‍♀️💨

There’ll be loads happening throughout the festival including:

🍦 The famous JJs Ice Cream Van
🎶 Live music from debut band
🎨 Glitter Tattoos
🏰 Bouncy Castle
🎯 Charity Crossbar Challenge

Donations will be going to Willowbrook Hospice

🐓 Roosters Masters — Cracking Day Out for the Lads

Great day of Masters, lads.
Everyone put a proper shift in and played some lovely rugby.
Plenty of graft, plenty of smiles, and plenty to be proud of.

Two well‑taken tries, crafted another, and worked tirelessly all day.
Pushed hard by a few others but fully deserved the MOM nod.
Outstanding performance…
Still needs to bring the Rum though (just saying).

Another who absolutely stepped up and was unlucky not to take MOM.
Delivered a very sexy assist to an on‑running Rum Brother and looked sharp when switched to 7.
Quality shift.

Came on in the second quarter and immediately brought forward thinking and tempo.
Made a real impact.

Played every position known to mankind.
Energy, carries, and constant forward momentum.

Momentarily devastated after losing his child to chocolate and fizzy‑drink negligence…
…but shook it off to put in a strong performance.
Another lad improving every week and a great squad member.

Commanded the sidelines with a level of skill and vigour that can only be compared to a blend of Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Alex Ferguson.
A true leader of men.

Its going to be a warm one so plenty hydration will be needed 🍺
