I brought this into the shop, and the service manager immediately told me it was 'unrepairable' and a 'major safety hazard.' He said the only option was a brand new tire, for $280. I just had a gut feeling he was lying. I told him to put the spare on. I drove to a little independent tire shop my dad recommended. The old-timer there looked at it, laughed, said 'no problem,' and had it patched and balanced in 10 minutes. He charged me $25.
