⏰ Meet at 10:00am - Alex Barker has kindly volunteered to do a pre-match stretch and work out so the girls are match ready after a long time without a match.

The club has been working hard behind the scenes, and it’s all coming together! 🙌

✅ Brand new goals are up

🚧 Dugouts are coming along nicely and will be finished before kick-off

We’d love to see as many people down as possible on Saturday to support the girls, check out the fantastic improvements to our facilities, and help create a great atmosphere for the first friendly of the season.

And one more thing… 😍

👕 The girls will be making their debut in our brand new home kit!

It’s also the club media day where there will be pictures taken, then Men’s first game of the season kicks off at 2pm if anyone wants to stay around.

There will be food and drinks available in the clubhouse

Today our Mersey Valley Sabres U12 Girls are heading into action at the Ron Massey Memorial Football Festival hosted by Flixton Juniors AFC.

The girls have been working hard, showing commitment, teamwork and a fantastic attitude all season now it’s time to enjoy another tournament and represent our club with pride.

💛🖤 Proud of Our U12 Mersey Valley Sabres! 🖤💛

What a group stage from our girls!

✅ Played 5
✅ Won 5
✅ 15 Points
✅ Top of the Group
✅ 0 Goals Conceded

The team showed incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout the group stage, winning every match and keeping a perfect defensive record.

Unfortunately, our journey came to an end in the quarter-finals with a narrow 1-0 defeat, decided by an unfortunate own goal. Football can be cruel sometimes, but that result doesn’t take away from what this team achieved.

To go through the group unbeaten, without conceding a single goal, is something every player should be immensely proud of. The girls represented the club brilliantly and gave everything from the first whistle to the last.

Heads held high, Sabres. The future is bright, and this is only the beginning. 💪⚽
