A big night for our new U7s ⚽️🧡🖤

All the new coaches kit and equipment has now been handed over ready for their first matches this weekend.

This year we have 4 brand-new U7 teams and over 30 children starting their football with Ashton-on-Mersey, which is fantastic to see.

They’ll also be one of our first groups coming through under the new Future Fit 3v3 format, giving the players more touches of the ball, more involvement and plenty of opportunities to develop and enjoy their football.

A massive thank you to all of our new U7 coaches for stepping forward and giving up their time. We really appreciate it.

All the best to the coaches, players and parents for the season ahead. ⚽️👏

The countdown to the new season is well and truly on!

Across the club, lots has been happening behind the scenes as we get ready for another big year.

✅ Pitches looking great
✅ Goals checked
✅ Equipment sorted
✅ Facilities getting a refresh
✅ Plans in motion for an exciting season ahead

Even our line marking robot has been hard at work today getting everything looking sharp! 🤖

We can’t wait to see all our players, coaches, volunteers and families back in action.

We can finally share the news!

We’re delighted to welcome Trafford United FC to Ashton on Mersey for the 2026/27 season.

Trafford United have been part of the local football community for over 20 years and, after looking for somewhere new to call home, we’ve agreed to come together for the season ahead.

Their two open-age men’s Saturday teams will now play their home games at Ashton on Mersey Sports Club, Banky Lane, competing in the Lancashire & Cheshire League.

For AoM, this is another big step forward for our football section. It brings regular Saturday open-age football to Banky Lane and gives our younger players another pathway into adult football as they progress through the club.

And we want everyone at AoM to get behind them!

When the lads are at home, the Sports Club and bar will be open, so come down, watch some football and give Trafford United a proper Banky Lane welcome. 🍻

Great to be back on Monday for our first outdoor Comets session.

We’ve now moved to Ashton on Mersey Sports Club and will be running free sessions every week, 5-6pm.

Another really positive session with plenty of effort, smiles and confidence growing each week. It’s great to see the group building and new faces continuing to join.

If your child would benefit from a relaxed, supportive football environment, feel free to come down and get involved.

We’re excited to announce plans for something a little different…

Introducing… Ashton on Mersey Adventure Land 👀

Set within our existing grounds (yes, the clubhouse is staying exactly where it is), we’re exploring a bold new concept that brings together sport, leisure, and a bit of fun for everyone.

What’s included?

🎾 Two brand new padel courts
🎢 Family attractions and rides across the main field
🍔 Food, seating and social areas
🚁 A very premium arrival option for certain club officials…

All designed to sit within the current site and make better use of the space we already have.

It’s still early days, but we couldn’t keep this one quiet any longer.
