Sam Wilkins is the kind of mate you want with you on the pitch and a night out. First one to have your back and first one to buy you a beer after.

Ex Salcombe RFC player and life member Julian White is taking on the Lewis Moody MBE XV Cycle Challenge today to raise valuable funds for MND. A handpicked group of Lewis' closest friends will come together to cycle from Newcastle (Doddie's club) down to the Allianz Stadium to arrive for the Gallagher PREM Final, on the way stopping at all 5 of Lewis' clubs, from his first club, Bracknell and school, Oakham, and his professional clubs, Leicester Tigers and Bath. This challenge will mark the first in Lewis's support and fundraising for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, as he looks to drive forward the work Doddie started and support in its mission to create a world free of MND. Because MND is not incurable - it’s underfunded.
Chairman of SRFC Stuart Read spoke with Julian on Saturday who’s spirits were high ahead of the challenge in the knowledge that he hadn’t been on a bike for some 20 years! He’s managed to get some Lycra to cover his large frame but suggested there is enough material to make a small family tent once the ride is over!

⭐ NEW SIGNING ⭐

Salcombe RFC New don't get many of what you might call "new signings" that's why we've asked our squad who is going public with their commitment for next season.

This one however counts however.

Will played a couple of games last season but thought his playing days were done. Happy in the centre or wing he is another youthful addition to a revitalised back line.

The club and some of the more "experienced" guys still playing gave him the 🔥 to get back in shape and go again.

More than that his two boys now play the game and love it as well. Will gets to help coach them which is class - and means SRFC has helped his family settle after a daunting move across the country - his words.

Thank you Will for deciding to throw yourself into our club and looking forward to seeing you in action every week.
