One minute you’re navigating nappies and school runs.
The next, you’re juggling teenagers, ageing parents, work pressures, relationships, health, finances… and wondering when life got so busy.
Midlife has a strange way of speeding everything up.
More responsibility. More decisions. Less time. Less space and more mental load than ever.
If you’re feeling like the days are blurring together, here are a few gentle ways you can slow it down.
1. Create tiny pauses. A 5-minute walk, a cup of tea without your phone, a few deep breaths between meetings. Small moments add up.
2. Lower the bar (just a bit). Not everything needs to be perfect. Midlife is not a performance review.
3. Do one thing just for you. Not for your family, your job, your parents. For you.
If life feels too fast right now, this is your reminder to look after yourself.
