Meet Karen and Ian 👋

Owners of family run pet supply specialists

They have been training with us since the day we opened and, over the last 10 years, have shown what consistency can achieve.

Now both over 60, they continue to get stronger, fitter, and more capable year after year—proving that age is never a barrier to improving your health and fitness.

They recently joined us on our community walk around the Kinder Scout route in the Peak District, taking on the challenge with ease and demonstrating just how much an active lifestyle can help you enjoy the things you love outside the gym.

Their journey is a great reminder that fitness is about building the strength, energy, and confidence to keep doing the things you enjoy for years to come. đŸ’ȘđŸ„Ÿ

What to eat before training in the morning?

The goal is simple: give your body easily accessible energy without
upsetting your stomach so you can perform.

What does your body actually need before training?

✅ Carbohydrates – your body’s preferred fuel source for moderate to
high-intensity exercise.

✅ A small amount of protein – can help reduce muscle protein breakdown
and support recovery, especially if training fasted isn’t for you.

✅ Low fat and low fibre – these slow digestion and can leave you feeling
sluggish or uncomfortable during training.

How much should you eat?

⏰ 30–60 minutes before training:
Aim for 20–40g of carbohydrates and, if tolerated, 10–20g of protein.

⏰ 1–2 hours before training:
You can have a larger meal containing 40–80g of carbohydrates, 20–30g of
protein, and a little healthy fat.

Remember, the best pre-workout meal is the one that fuels your session
and agrees with your stomach.

📈 Every 10–12 weeks, we take a step back and measure progress.

Strength. Fitness. Performance. Body composition.

Because if you don’t measure it, it’s hard to know whether what you’re doing is actually working.

Personal Development Week helps our members see how far they’ve come, celebrate their wins, and set clear goals for the next phase of training.

Results don’t happen by accident—they happen when you track, review, and keep moving forward.

Every member has their own personal goals they’re striving towards, and helping them achieve those goals is one of the things we enjoy most about what we do.

It’s not just about training hard—it’s about making sure you’re moving in the right direction and building results that last.

Meet Deepti 👋

Deepti has been training with us for the past 9 months and is a perfect example of what can be achieved through consistency.

Month after month, she has continued to improve her fitness, strength, and confidence by simply showing up and putting in the work. She always gives 100% in every session and does it all with a smile on her face.

Her dedication and positive attitude make her an absolute pleasure to coach, and we’re incredibly proud of the progress she has made so far. Keep up the amazing work, Deepti! đŸ’Ș

May Member of the Month 🏅

Jen has been incredibly consistent throughout May, attending over 18 sessions and showing real dedication to her goals. She’s been sticking into her calorie target and smashing her protein goal.

The coaches and members have noticed the effort she brings to every session always pushing herself and others. Keep up the fantastic work, Jen!

Meet Sammy — she’s been with us for 10 weeks and has completely thrown herself into it. She’s enjoying the gym, feeling fitter and stronger, and has loved the social side too, making great friends along the way. After recently spending 2 weeks skiing in Canada, she really noticed how much her fitness from the gym had helped

Personal Development Week!

Monday 10th November is the start of PD Week!

- What is it?

A whole week of opportunities to achieve PBs in different lifts:
Squat, Bench, Deadlift etc. And to achieve a new high score on our PD Cardio workout.

- Why do we do it?

PD Week allows members to track their progress and focus on a target to beat from last time. By doing this, following our programming and having the right mindset our members will continually push to new heights! And achieve things they once thought weren’t possible!

- To our existing members:

Make sure you look at your previous weights lifted on the PD boards so you know what to target and so your coach can help you warm/build up effectively to a new PB!
Remember to text your coach and note down what new weights you achieved and your cardio score so you have a reference for next time!
