GAMEWEEK 21 ROUNDUP 🏏🔥

Another massive weekend of action in the books! Here is how all the teams got on across Saturday and Sunday:

Saturday 5th September
1st XI: Made it 5 wins on the spin with a stellar performance away at Barrow CC! Posting 311-8 (K. Maher 91, D. Nedugodan 50), the lads bowled Barrow out for 264 to secure a 47-run victory. Top bowling from B. Rees (3/48) and K. Maher (3/59)!

2nd XI: A tough day at the office against a strong Timperley CC 3rd XI. Despite bowling efforts from L. Keenan (4/77) and G. Bushell (2/69), Timperley set 340-8, and our lads were bowled out for 136 (M. Harrison 24, I. Conway 23).

Sunday 6th September
3rd XI: Wrapped up a hard-fought season away at Romiley CC 3rd XI. Romiley posted 196-6 (J. Collings 2/33, L. Ratcliffe 2/45). The lads put up a brilliant chase, coming close to that elusive first win, but ultimately fell short at 166 all out (J. Rain 47, A. Ratcliffe 37) — losing by 30 runs.

Women’s Hard Ball 1st XI: Finished their season on a high with a clinical win at Oakmere CC 2nd XI! An absolute masterclass with the ball from S. O’Connor (5/1 in 5 overs!) and J.L. Gray (2/13) restricted Oakmere to 72 all out. S. Woodstock (22) and S. Marsh (10) guided us home for a 6-wicket victory in just 14.1 overs!

Legends XI: The Runcorn CC Legend XI turned out against Frodsham CC XI in the annual Matt Shaw Memorial Match — a wonderful fixture to remember past players from both clubs. Played in fantastic spirits and enjoyed by all, Runcorn posted 183 (Bon 32, Rocky 30, Kenner 30) before bowling Frodsham out for 124 (Lionel 3/8, Bebbo 2/12, Bon 2/15) to seal a 59-run win!

It’s the penultimate fixtures for our 1st and 2nd XIs on Saturday, followed by the final games of the season on Sunday for our 3rd XI and Women’s Hardball team—plus our annual Matt Shaw Memorial Game!
