🔴Redhouse Allstars - Brereton Social Raptors🔵

Another fantastic result today!!!

The team we played against was a very good side. They played the ball around the way we like to, but they were aggressive and fast to react as well!

We had to battle, dig deep, and soak up some pressure in the first half.

We made it to half-time 1–0 up, but being 100 percent honest, we were probably the slightly second-best team.

What a goal by Jack to give us the lead! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ball hit so well in grassroots football!

At half-time we spoke to the team, changed a few things, and asked the players to react quicker and close them down.

We did exactly that, and we were probably the slightly better team in the second half.

We conceded the equaliser with a mix-up at the back, but in the past we might have dropped our heads. Not now. The new attitude is: pick our heads up and go again!

Joe calmly slotted in our second to regain the lead, after a great through ball from Sparky.

From there, we controlled the match and didn’t really give away any more chances.

Bob secured what we thought was our third goal and celebrated with a wonderful knee slide — only for it to be ruled out for offside, which I don’t think had any chance of actually being offside!

The back four were solid today, and they had to be. Rhys and Samuel were rock solid, winning everything. Sparky, Alfie, and Joe did their jobs and more.

Daisy, Xander, and Bobby were solid in midfield. We played a new formation today — because the pitch was so big — and decided to play the three of them in a triangle in the centre. Some of the passing between the three of them was great.

Max H, Travis, Max W, and Amico were our wide players, running up and down that massive pitch and giving us the width we needed. Max H is having the season of his life, and Travis has been superb for the past two games — hopefully it continues!

Amico has been ill for seven days, so he struggled for energy today, but he gave us everything he had.

Max W unfortunately got injured early in the second half, which affected him, but he was getting really stuck in and running hard.

Jack, Kye, and Joe up front gave us the out ball. They held it up brilliantly and played us out into dangerous positions.

Fin and Ben made fantastic saves, and their talking and communication were immense. They were there when we needed them.

That is the end of our first league season in the Walsall League.

We have finished in 4th place, which is brilliant when you think about the start we had.

It took us a few weeks to get to grips with the league, as it was more physical than what we were used to.

I think it’s a brilliant league and so much better organised than Mid Staffs.

We now have a few friendlies lined up, which will help create the new league division that starts in a few weeks.

I have high hopes of competing at the top of the division — no matter which division the league puts us in!

Congrats to all Raptors. It’s been a really enjoyable season so far — we’ve won 4 out of our last 5 games!

Roll on next week!!

What a Sunday!!! What a team!! What a performance!!!

We went into today’s match with the massive disappointment of last week hanging over our heads. We also knew we were playing a good team who sit third place in our division, and we knew we were without Bob, Jack, and Kye today.

We worked hard at training this week. We focused on defending from the top of the pitch and being as tight as we could be — getting closer to the players rather than giving them that extra yard.

From the first whistle today, you could see it working and paying off! We won the ball in their half of the pitch more than ever before, which allowed us to attack.

Not only was our press really good, but when we won the ball, we passed it and used it really well.

We went into half-time 1–0 up and really could have been 3–0 on a different day.

We knew the second half would be tough, as they would come out fighting, and we also knew we were playing uphill.

The second half was as good, if not better, than the first!

At the final whistle, I have never been more proud of the team.

Every single player gave us everything.

Ben and Fin were composed and steady and made the saves when needed, but were never in a real bad situation.

Samuel and Rhys were solid in the middle at the back, winning everything and sticking to the game plan perfectly.

Sparky and Alfie had massive jobs today, and both passed with flying colours—winning their battles and playing some amazing balls out from the back to start attacks.

Xander and Daisy, in the middle of midfield, worked so, so hard. You could see they had no legs left at the end, but they were phenomenal and bossed the match.

Max W and Max H on the wings did not stop running for one second.

Max W scored the winning and only goal, but you would have noticed him running back and defending in the second half—doing everything the team needed.

Max H has been so, so, so good over the past month, but today he was the best of them all. It was his defensive play and tackling that really pleased me today.

Up front we had Joe and Travis to start, and they caused so much trouble every time—running in behind and chasing them down when we lost the ball.

Travis had his best game he’s ever had for the Raptors and had a complete performance!! He held the ball up well, passed it wide, and chased everything.

Amico came on for Joe and did the exact same things—chasing everything and putting major pressure on them.

Well done to Travis on winning Player of the Match; it was well deserved.

Well done to Max W for his goal — it’s been coming for the past few weeks!

That is the new bar we have set, and we cannot drop below it again. We will win the ball up the pitch, we will pressure and close them down every week.

It’s amazing how good a Sunday feels when they play and perform like that!!

Well done all.

Match Reflection….

The team were slightly off the pace — even during warm-ups, you could sense that energy levels were a bit below our usual standard.
If we’re honest, I think we were all a little guilty of assuming that playing the team at the bottom of the table would be an easy win. But that’s not how football works!
At any level — from grassroots to the pros — if you don’t have the right mentality, you simply won’t get the result.
The game couldn’t have started worse for us. Our very first attack saw Jack pick up a nasty thumb injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the match. That had a real impact on the lads — you could see it.
As we always say, when we win, we don’t get carried away — and when we lose, we don’t get too down. We learn, move on, and focus on the next one.
This group of players are a fantastic bunch of kids — they just had an off day in the office. We’ll regroup, train hard this week, and be ready to bounce back in our next tough game away at Hagley Field.

🏆Well done to Max H, who was outstanding today and fully deserved Player of the Match. He was brilliant and our main attacking threat throughout. 🏆

We go again! ⚽🔥

Back-to-back wins is the positive news though, and the Raptors are charging up the league table! 💪⚽

It was a tricky one today. We all expected to win after last week’s big performance, but the pitch had long grass which doesn’t suit a team that likes to play football. Add in the wind and rain, and it made things even tougher!

We scored the first goal in less than a minute — which is normally great news, and don’t get me wrong, I was over the moon! But I also think it contributed to us not playing at our best. It gave off that “this is going to be easy” vibe and maybe encouraged us to go long more often than I would’ve liked.

Either way, a great start — and Jack was on the scoresheet again for goal number five of the season! 🔥

We then conceded — a great finish from their perspective, but disappointing from ours. Ward and I spoke before the match about defending corners, and we didn’t do it well enough! Definitely something we’ll be working on in the next few sessions.

The response was excellent though. After being pegged back, it wasn’t long before Jack scored again — number six of the season!

At half-time, we told the players to regroup and play our game, as we were just slightly off it today.

The second half was much better — not perfect, but a big improvement.

Joe bagged a great finish to make it 3–1, and Xander added his third goal in two weeks to seal it 4–1!

Good teams find ways to win even when they don’t play well — and that’s exactly what we did today. Winning becomes a habit, and while we’re not quite there yet, we’re well on our way!

🌟 Special Mentions
• Bobby & Samuel – Solid again and really saved us with some key defensive work. We’re looking watertight at the back with them!
• Alfie – Not 100% fit but battled hard, gave us everything, and was brilliant.
• Rhys – Did all the dirty work in midfield, protecting the back four calmly and effectively. Massive for us!
• Joe – Came back from illness last week, scored a crucial goal to give us breathing space, and even filled in at RB when needed.
• Jack – What a signing! Six goals in two games — his speed and finishing ability are unreal.
• Kye – For his second game in a row (after missing last week), did exactly what was asked. Brilliant touches today and unlucky not to score!
• Xander – Ran his socks off in the middle, played some brilliant balls, and got his reward with a goal.
• Max H – POTM 🏆 – Much deserved! Some lovely passing and running today, and he’s starting to show that aggressive edge — great to see!

And of course… a special mention to the supporters for coming out to watch and for Andrew Hewitt — proving once again that boots are in fact essential for football. 🥾😂

I could talk about everyone at the minute, but I’ll leave it at that. Sundays are so much better when you’re winning! 💚⚽

🔴Brunswick Warriors 0 - 6 Brereton Social Raptors Reds🔵

Hope you all enjoyed your Sunday morning as much as I did ‼️

What a team performance 👊

We’ve been working hard at training getting crosses into the box and finishing them when we get the chance!!

We’ve been saying for a long time that we will thrash someone soon, as we play such lovely football just haven’t had the finishing touch in front of goal

We spoke before kick off today and I told the players that we need to keep doing what we do every week, and the goals will come!! I told the players based on what we have seen at training over the past two weeks, jack is going to help us in front of goal!!

We started off today with kick off and we played the ball around the back, out wide, back inside and looked brilliant again!!

The difference today is we finished most of our chances!!

We had some bad news before the game with Joe and Amico being sick and not able to play and wity Travis and Kye away for the weekend meant we had no outfield subs!!

The players gave me everything, ran hard, tackled hard and played some great football!! We had about a 5-8 min spell where we stopped playing and had a bit of pressure on us, but that was expected as the players needed to regroup and go again!!

Every player contributed to the win today!! The opposing manager was very impressed with our back 4, saying it’s the best defending he’s seen in the division so far!! I call it a back 6 as Ben and Fin talking and coming off their line to help bob and Samuel who coped with everything and were calm on the ball!!

Sparky and Alfie at left and right back were rocks and played some attacking football today getting forward when they could!!

Rhys playing in a holding midfield role helped break attacks up and help bob and Samuel, but also started off many attacks!!

Xander in the attacking midfield role, was brilliant on the ball, playing the great pass for Jacks second goal, setting up the first with a corner and scoring two him self!!

Daisy and Max with our width and played some lovely football with some give and goes and working hard for the team!! As always daisy got stuck in and battled.

Up front we had Max W and Jack!!

Max did lots of running and created chances for Jack and played some fine balls through the back 4

Jack… what can we say, has come in and put the ball in the net, exactly what we asked and needed!! For me what was more improtant was his work rate, when we lost the ball or if the ball didn’t make it to him, he quickly put them under pressure making them make mistakes!! But 4 brilliant goals and Player of the match on his debut 🏆

Everyone should be proud

What a Fantastic day!!

Well done all!!

Tough game and not the result we wanted in the cup, but every single player left it all out on the pitch. Proud of the heart, the fight, and the unity our team showed until the final whistle. Losses sting, but performances like that remind us why we love this game. Heads held high — onwards and upwards! 💪⚽

Tough Result Today, but Plenty of Positives to Take! ⚽💪

Today was a tough one, but it was definitely a winnable match, and I truly believe we’re the better team. We’ve said a few times this season that our opponents were in the wrong division — but today, this was our level, and we should have come away with the win.

After watching the game back, even though we weren’t at our best, we still created enough to win comfortably. We had three clear breakaways, a sitter from five yards, and an open goal in the second half — that’s six potential goals we could have taken!

Their first goal came from a rebound where they reacted quicker, the second was a great strike to be fair, and the third was poor from our point of view — allowing the cross, not collecting it, and then not tracking our man at the far post.

When we played our game, especially when passing out from the back, we looked superb — moving through them like a hot knife through butter. We just didn’t keep that rhythm going long enough. At times, we panicked or rushed our passing and couldn’t quite find our flow.

I honestly believe we beat that team seven times out of ten. We just need that extra 5% of desire, a bit more composure on the ball, and to start taking our chances. It will come — no doubt about it.

I have full confidence we’ll turn this season around. Keep your heads up, stay confident, and trust the process. Watching last Monday’s training, you’d never guess we haven’t won a game yet — the quality and effort were outstanding.

It’s in us — we just need to show it more consistently. We may face a few more tough games, but we’ll come out stronger and start getting the results we deserve.

🏆Well done Daisy POTM 🏆

⚽️Wednesfield Community 7 - 4 Raptors Reds ⚽️

Sunday 21st September 2025 📆

Sunday’s game was always going to be a tough one, given what we knew about the opposition. Unfortunately, we didn’t really show up for most of the first half.

As Gav said during the warm-up, the team looked half asleep — and it showed on the pitch. We were flat-footed, slow to react, and second to every ball.

Despite that, we battled and went into halftime 4–1 down, with Sparky getting one back for us before the break.
At halftime, we had to be honest with the players. We challenged their effort and reminded them to stop feeling sorry for themselves. We told them exactly how they could hurt the other team — and that if they played like we know they can, the goals would come.
The second half was a big improvement. The players had belief, they tackled harder, and they started to show real desire. It wasn’t perfect — far from it — but the work rate and attitude were much better.
Over the last 12 months, we’ve played some brilliant football without always getting the rewards. But we’ve been working hard on our attacking play — getting into the box, putting crosses in — and today, that paid off with four goals!

🥅Goals today from:
Sparky
Max W
Travis (his first goal for Brereton Social — congratulations!)
Daisy (her second of the season — well done!)

📣Shout-outs to:
Ben and Fin for some fantastic saves
Samuel, who once again put in a full shift and got stuck in
That said, we let ourselves down defensively. We slipped back into bad habits — diving into tackles and letting players run through the middle too easily. That’s something we’ll be working on. If we can combine today’s attacking intent with a more solid defence, we’ll be in a much better place.
We believe our tough run of early-season fixtures is now behind us — so it’s time to push forward with confidence!
Well done everyone, and let’s keep building! 💪

🏆POTM Travis Well done 👏

Sunday 14th September 2025

We knew today was going to be one of our toughest tests yet, and wow... the players stepped up! 💪🏼
We asked for more aggression, more physicality, and most importantly — to battle while staying compact and disciplined. And I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single player out there today.
Not only did we compete, not only were we physical, we actually played some fantastic football at times and matched them in key moments!
The opposition today… I truly believe they’re the best team we’ve ever faced — fast, aggressive, skilful, and they played the game the right way. Huge credit to them.
But let’s talk about our team….
That main chance we created was pure class: a beautiful ball from Ben, Max running at full speed with a one-touch pass to Samuel, who saw the picture perfectly and flicked it first time across to Max W, one-on-one with the keeper. Brilliant! 👏
On the other side, some top one-touch link-up play from Xander, Rhys, Alfie, and Travis was just as impressive.
Bobbie and Joe were immense in the middle, winning almost everything, and supported brilliantly by Rhys, Daisy, and Xander at the back. 🧱
Honestly, I said privately that I just wanted to keep the scoreline to single digits — but we did so much better than that! The effort, the commitment, the pride… it was all there.
Yes, we made a couple of mistakes that led to goals (the first and fourth were avoidable), but that’s football, especially under the kind of pressure they put us under. Add in our big chance and Xander’s free kick that just missed the bottom corner, and the final score could’ve looked very different.
Even the opposing manager was full of praise — it was a brilliant game played the right way. 👏⚽️

POTM goes to:
Bobbie 🏆

Hope you're all as buzzing as I am — they gave us absolutely everything today. Well done everyone!!! 🙌🔥

⚽️Brereton Raptors Reds 1-3 Lichfield City Community⚽️

Sunday 7th September 2025

What a tough start to the season that was – in every way! We definitely didn’t start at our best and looked a bit nervous for the first 5–10 minutes. But once we settled down, we actually started playing some good football! 🙌

The other team were strong, fast, and physical – with a few players who looked fully grown! 😂 Their speed and power definitely made it tough for us, especially in midfield where they gave us no time at all.

When we got the ball out wide though, we looked dangerous – and that’s how we scored! Samuel did some brilliant work down the wing, crossed it in, and Daisy smashed it into the bottom corner with her first touch! 🔥 What a goal!

We had a couple more chances that could’ve gone in but didn’t quite happen. In the second half they loaded the midfield even more, which made it really hard for us to keep the ball and settle.

POTM goes to:
⭐ Samuel – brilliant hold-up play and crosses!
🧤 Ben – an all-round amazing game in goal (talking, saves, kicking – the lot!).

Well done both!
