🔴 Brereton Social U12s Reds vs. Lakeside U12s 🔴

Final Score: 5-1 (Lakeside)

The Brereton Social U12s Reds delivered a fantastic team performance today against a tough Lakeside side. Despite the 5-1 result, the game highlighted how far the team has progressed, having previously faced much larger defeats.

In the first half, the Reds went down 2-0, though they felt the score should have been closer. After an encouraging halftime talk, the team came out determined. Although Lakeside added three more goals, Brereton fought back, creating chances and Joe scoring a well-deserved goal late in the game.

Brereton’s players showed great discipline and teamwork throughout. Finn made crucial saves, while Samuel, Rhys, and Sparky formed a solid defensive line. Midfielders Bobbie and Xander controlled the game with relentless energy, and wingers Max and Owen contributed both offensively and defensively.

Amico led the attack with constant pressure, and Joe, Stan, and Kye came on to make strong impacts. 🏆 Sparky earned Man of the Match 🏆 for his excellent marking, though every player played a part in the team's success.

👏🏻 The coaches are proud of the team's effort and growth, with Lakeside’s manager expressing admiration for Brereton’s improvement and resilience. 👏🏻

⚽️Tonight, our team took a different approach and traded the on field training session, for the classroom. Instead of physical training, we focused on tactics and strategy, diving deep into game plans and key plays. The team was fully engaged, asking great questions and really stepping up their understanding of the game. It was a valuable session, and we’re excited to see how this knowledge translates onto the field. Proud of the effort and commitment showed tonight!⚽️

A big thank you to C residential for allowing us to use their space 🙏🏻

⚽️A tough defeat today against Stafford Town⚽️

First Half:
We started the game the better team and we're well on top the first 15 minutes definitely belongs to raptors, and that was when we were the better team with out playing our best football, we tackled, we won the balls and we attacked...

After 15 min we let Stafford into the game, and they started to have a few attacks...we made two defensive mistakes for each goal...first allowing a cross, and second not defending in the box and winning a ball...so we found our self two nil down, and it was hurting and hard to take...

Second Half:
Started and we were right on top of them, pumped up, winning tackles and they couldn't get out of their half...unlike the first half we passed the ball better as well, getting the ball wide, crossing and some really good play.

Two good goals from Bobbie, bringing us even. Unfortunately the ref called a penalty resulting in a goal, which meant we lost 3-2.

The wins will come, we have lovely boys who work so hard and are learning and developing each week…

Our team had an awesome day, yesterday with our friends (Raptors Blues) at Walsall FC! The boys got the amazing opportunity to train at the stadium, be ball boys, and watch Walsall play an intense match. Such an unforgettable experience for them to see the pros in action and get a taste of the big league atmosphere. Memories made, lessons learned, and inspiration gained! Big thanks to Walsall FC for making it possible

Well what a start to 2024 it’s been, the rain that we have had and the effects have been felt and seen by all and especially Hagley Field with I’m sure most of you saw the flooding that took place this week.

But Wow! With the wonderful work of Paul Sparkes and volunteers the site will be hosting games this weekend, this is a massive feat and the dedication to ensure some games can go ahead is brilliant and we are beyond words.

The picture below just shows the difference.

While we will be hosting games and welcome you all to the centre to support, the facility is still very wet in areas and we therefore ask that ALL spectators keep to the outside paths and don’t walk though the middle of the field. This is still very boggy and will cause unnecessary damage to the pitches that we continue to work on.

Again massive thanks to Paul and All involved, can’t wait to see football played this weekend and it’s a massive achievement that we can.

Thank you to everyone who participated or visited our church Christmas tree festival. What a great week we have had with the church looking magical and welcoming so many visitors. We do hope you will visit us again for one, or all of our Christmas services next weekend.

Just for fun we asked all our visitors to vote for three of their favourite trees and out of fairness we have put the trees into four categories. All trees received votes and the results were close. The results are and certificates will be issued to:-
