On Saturday we went away to play camp hill in Birmingham, Mrs Mpofu's old school, with out our captain and star full back. We were confident going into the game but suffered a rude awakening as the re scrum capped centre burst through us for their opening try. A good response and try from Loydall got us back in it but red scrum cap scored again to make it14-5 at half time. Paddy price saw red early in the second half and charged headlong into a ruck only to be cautioned by the referee. From the resulting penalty the ball was kicked into touch and the line out was mid way through when paddy again broke the peace. The ball was still in the air as he took out his opposing number. As the ref called him over he admitted that he hadn't gone for the ball but the opponent instead and narrowly avoided yellow. After an injury scare Tildesley broke throw and scored only to have the lead opened again by camp hill to 21-12. George Patrick scored of a superb him by Ran Scott to make it 17-21 and the uncharacteristic success from the tee by Loydall made it 21-19. We toiled on but to now apparent effect but when the clock was red the ball was pun wide and Ran Scott received and pass and dived over for the victory 24-21 (with a poor missed kick by loydall in front of the posts)

On Saturday sheriff played Leicester grammar and we were nearly with out our pivotal player, County Kyle, but remembering the quality of the food last year his back become fit to play almost instantly. We started the game off with good possession and intent to play the open expansive game but a myriad of mistakes meant we had all the possession but no points. Eventually we broke through and then gained a second quickly to put us in the driving seat. After half time they scored which gave them hope but the first team was put on to the pitch and we put 4 tries past them in 10 minutes. With the game effectively settled the game wound down with a sublime finish from 'The Ox' and a second try for them. The man of the match was Jamie Kerr who scored 4 tries. The food was most agreeable with a chicken burger, chocolate muffin, and juice carton. After 10 games of the season Michael Pratt leads both the points and tries tables with 13 tries and 135 points. George Patrick is second with 55 points and 11 tries. I would throw Curtley Bale a fun quote but his performance was so unmemorable i can't think what he did. Sorry f you scored Dave.

We played the 4th round of the Natwest Cup on Wednesday against King Edwards Edgebaston and triumphed 27-10. In horrid conditions with a certain Captain Scott reffing who quoted various laws to a lay the concerns of a restless pack we vanquished our foe in a battle of monumental struggle. There winger who was a giant among men yet a yr 9 playing up scored 2 tries, displaying herculean strength, and that gave them hope. Tries from Pratty and some other people who i can't recollect at this monument. After slaying this beast of a team we see what lies in weight on the next leg of our Natwest quest.... (Curtley Bale secured the man of the match award with a show of legendary speed and ferocious power thou the ref though it should have been Jamie's)

I you liked the new 'myths and legends' type report for the Natwest Cup please tell me because i thought i might make it a thing. Normal matches will remain with normal reviews.

Heads up to the lads playing in the sheriff game tomorrow we are going to have Nigel Scott as the ref and he is the most awkward bastard ever.

I just wanted to inform the members of the massive that the aim is 100 likes and we are stuck on 7 so we need to improve that. If one fat bastard can get 300 likes on a topless picture of him we can break 40!

Yesterday Andrews played Old Covs at a later time then usual, 12;30. They were a big team so before kick Isaac Blake-Mills got scared and feigned injury and limped onto the bench. A quick fire try from tom got us off the mark early and in the next 15 minutes 2 more tries for tom and one for our line sniffing prop Curtley Bale who dived over balletically in the corner. We continued to play our game and with the introduction of Luke Venner we proceeded to take 3 scrums against the head. The ball was one by the powerful Scott and the grace of Bale. This nearly sparked a fight because the Covs ho**er , unhappy with his poor scrummaging, began 'talking smack' to the Andrews ho**er. When Bale intervened tempers flair but were skillfully diffused the their 12 who broke apart the rival parties. More tries followed from Smiffy and Blake-Mills who had regained some courage. Overall it was a convincing 45-5 marred slightly by the fact we had to get changed in a porter cabin that smelt of p**s.

Great game today against Bishop Veseys, even though we were missing County Kyle and Callum. We triumphed 56-12 and to be honest their tries were both very soft. Ran was named man of the match, possibly slightly unwarrantedly but he got it none the less. He scored a superb try from close range because Curtley Bale changed the point of the attack very well. Tries from the usual suspects put the game with on doubt and we ran out very comfortable winners. The only part that tainted the match was the failure to give a pass from paddy price which had it gone even Ben Ferguson wouldn't have been able to fail to score.

Now for a look back at the results of previous Sheriff sides against Veseys. The year who have just left (my brothers year) played them 5 times and managed a single try in all together. their closest result a gallant 43-5 defeat.

S**t performance today. Bad rucking, catching and passing. We won a close game i scored but the less said the better.

Fantastic win today against a team who were bigger and older than us. Fairfax year 10 were other why occupied so we manned up and took on their year 11. They were considerably bigger than us but that means nothing when we hit me them low and hard. A warning of things to come was thrown down early with Jamie Kerr smashing their big fat number 12. We ran round and through them from the start and a quick try by Patrick followed by 3 from Pratt put us in the driving seat. The highlight of the first half was County Kyle hitting one of their biggest players from a penalty. He took him 10 meters sideways and soon in to touch. A violent outburst from there captain at the end of the first half for missed tackles on the greased up and graceful Curtley Bale looked to be the point were Fairfax realized it was lost. Ben Ferguson scored one of the second half tries with a powerful run to the corner. The scores were Patrick (2) Pratt (3) Bale (1 or 2) Ferguson (1) Smith (1) and maybe somebody else. Final Score 49-10, good hooking from Ran Scott (second game ever at ho**er) who lost his own ball only once and took 2 against the head.

A convincing 72-17 victory against Lemington today. A variety of scores kep the game alive, 12 tries and 8 try scores. The usual's scored (Tildesley, Bale, Scott, loydall etc). The first try coming within seconds of the kickoff through a fumbled catch pounced upon by Scott and finished by Kerr.Another try followed and then against the run of play the Lemington Blake Mills steam rolled a quartet of players (Blake mills, Pratt, Kerr and Loydall) and scored. Then normal play resumed and Andrews were once again on top. The pick of the tries was Scott's, scored in the 25th minute, where he draw 2 players on his own 10 passed it to Blake Mills and then had the present of mind to support Blake Mills whose lack of pace and power meant he couldn't score. He recieved the ball back and crashed over the line. His potent blend of pace and power ring stability to both St Andrews and Sheriff.

A brilliant performance by sheriff today. A few changes with Loydall going to 10 and Pratty moving out to 13 and i played my first game at ho**er but that didn't affect the performance. 2 or 3 early tries from great breaks by Loydall put us clear and we built on that. 'Smiffy' played well as ever but the elusive and agile Curtley Bale took the man of the match trophy with a dominant performance in the tight and electrifying game in the loose. Tries for Kerr Pratt Loydall and some other people brought the score to 56 - 7 in 42 minutes. The ref was biased to the KES allowing them to get a try but overall and encouraging game.

Turning to our recent cup success where in the recently dubbed Natwest Cup (daily Mail) Camden Court were beaten 47-0. The score was limited to a restriction on taking conversions and competing in breakdown. Hopefully every few Wednesday's i can give out positive news on our cup progress. There should be two games this weekend and i hope to update you all on both.
