SHIP INN 2
THURCROFT JUNIORS 0

After a defeat in the cup last week we looked to bounce back to winning ways in the league.

We started off well piling pressure on our opponents looking to find an early goal. After a few missed chances we were rewarded through Chad who found the back of the net to put us 1-0 up. We kept the pressure on and could have found ourselves 3-0 up at HT However , it wasn’t meant to be.

As the 2nd half started we didn’t match the energy or the pace as we did in the 1st half. We still had majority of the possession and reduced our opponents to limited chances . Saying this we still created Chances , Hitting the crossbar , missing 1 on 1 ‘ s and Brett missing an open net …

Since we couldn’t hit the target we looked to our super sub ( Thurcrofts Defender ) who under pressure from Malik slotted the ball past his own GK to put us 2-0 up.

FT 2-0

Not our greatest performance but on another day could have had 7 goals.

MOTM - Chad , Didn’t put a foot wrong in the middle of the park and controlled the game. Took his goal very well.

Good luck to our opponents for rest of season.

Game tomorrow as we look to get back to winning ways against Thurcroft let's get people down n support the lads at Rawmarsh Leisure 10:30 kick off UTS 🟠⚫🟠⚫

Well we see ourselves lose 4-2 and take our 1st loss in 10 games and knocked out of the Brian Beeley n dropping down to the Malcom Gabbitas cup.

It wasn't a great start to the game as we found ourselves battling against the ref for the majority of the 90 minutes we had our chances in the 1st half too which we didn't take and eventually found ourselves 2-0 quite quickly with some unfortunate errors off players slipping and the home side taking advantage of it and as it gets to half time we found ourselves 4-0 down.

Going into the 2nd half we made a few changes that seemed to make a difference as we slowly started to come back into and having 3 goals disallowed against us which probably go for you on another day is unfortunate but in the 2nd half we managed to salvage a respectable scoreline with Binney slotting in a pen and an Own Goal with Biggin making chance after chance on the right side when he come on.

But all the best to Chaucer for their cup run and the rest of the season.

Man Of The Matches
Ethan Binney - Worked has ass of up top chasing everything down n got us up the pitch when we needed too.
Brandon Vernon - It's just what you expect from him now covers every single blade of grass and doesn't stop running for 90 minutes getting stuck in and creating chances.
Well played lads

Ship Inn 7-0 Scawthorpe Herons 3rd team

Well what started as a bit of a nervous start for us in the first 15 minutes we slowly started to turn the momentum our way and as soon as we did that it we made the most of it with Brett Beech putting us 2-0 up at HT.

Going into the 2nd half we looked to build on our 2 goal lead and that we did with Brett finding a 3rd and completing his hat trick.
After a couple of substitutes shy of half way into the 2nd half we saw ourselves just take even more control as Potente made an instant impact finding the back of the net and found himself with a hat trick too not to long after with some lovely finishes but that wasn't it to top it over Josh Biggin then makes it 7 with a nice tidy finish in off the post.

We now find ourselves in the 2nd round against a strong side in Woodman Woodlaiths who played plenty last season and no doubt will be a good game.

Ship Inn 2
Horse n Jockey 0

In what was the 2nd game of the season we looked to add more points on the board. We knew from playing our opponents in pre-season this would be no easy fixture.

The lads started very strong today , looking settled on the ball and dominating the game. The first goal didn’t take long as the ball was laid of to Sando who struck the ball well past the keeper from distance. 1-0 SHIP.
The 2nd followed very shortly as we used the momentum of the first goal to pile even more pressure onto our opponents as Brett was found unmarked and slotted the ball in off the post. 2-0 SHIP.

HT 2-0.

After the 1st half where we could have been 4/5 - 0 up we looked to find more goals and keep the game out of sight , but credit to Horse n Jockey as they didn’t back down and started to create chances of their own. As the game started to turn our opponents hit the post and late on skied a penalty into next week. A half of little chances for us but could have made it 3. Another good test for the lads who have now made it 9 UNBEATEN !!

MOTM’s -
Sando - Won everything and took his goal very well.
Oli W - controlled the game and won everything.
Tom - Made some excellent saves and kept a deserved clean sheet for his performance.

We head into the Sheffield cup next week against Scawthorpe Herons 3rd Team 🏆
