Now off the subject of horses, I'm challenging myself to something completely different..

I've signed up to run a 5k in Southampton on the 16th August. I will be raising money for dementia uk. Sadly my Gran is currently living with dementia! Loosing someone before you loose them is just so heartbreaking.

So over the next few weeks there might be a few updates on how I'm doing. Last night I did my 3rd un training with couch to 5k at Jack's yard!

It is with great excitement that I am fully booked, I have recently taken on 2 more clients which means all slots are filled on a regular basis!

Firstly thank you to everyone who trusts me to do what I do & look after your horses!

Secondly I doubted myself I would be able to do this especially since having Alfred 10 months ago. Weather it would be possible to still do something I love... and we'll it turns out I am able to!!

It's not just horses it's now bloody ducks....

The duck life isn't for me but Aleksandra Loskot finds it very funny & there's now 2 ducklings on the yard.....

If other animals appear on the yard I quit 😂😂😂😂

Having horses in a heatwave isn't for the faint hearted...

I've been giving Jack nice cold washes off to help him keep cool, I've been making his mash more watery to help get fluids into him (he's never been a massive drinker), he has a nice field shelter to stand in with a nice soft bed & he also has access to fresh water in a large trough.

I tend not to worry to much about him as he's always lived put 24/7 and he adapts well but now being the older man at 27 I worry a tiny bit more each year in the winter & summer 😂

How is everyone else keeping there horses cool? Be interesting to see different ideas 🥵

There's nothing like your own horse, he saves me every time from the bad days.

Riding at the mo is hit and miss. With the kids, work & just general life. I try and ride him at least once a week for his own sainty & mine, but it's not always about riding. Today, I had Alfred in the car soundo. So I fed him, groomed him done all the jobs that needed doing & then just sat & watched him, just being with him. It always brings peace & chill when life is hetic.

Jack I will forever be grateful for you & here's to nearly 17 years together 💪❤️

Thought I would reintroduce myself..

My name is Kate, freelancer for equine services. I am a Mummy to my 2 babies, a fiancé & a horse mummy!

I have always worked with horses since being in school, I left school then went straight into an apprenticeship and I've never looked back. I've been lucky enough to work in majority of the industry. Livery, stud, competition & riding school. I have my NVQ 2 & 3 & years of experience.

I have owned my boy for coming up 17 years. He is the best therapy, best friend & team mate a girl could ever ask for. I have been very lucky to be able to do everything with him & he's now teaching my daughter Harriet the ropes. They really have gained a magical bond. He is just the best with my children. He's 27 but my God he's still got it in him!

Horses have always been apart of my life & I'm hoping that continues for a very long time! Being outside in all weather's is just the best. And getting to know all different types of horses & there owners. The trust that goes into it, I'll always be thankful for!

After a weekend off with badminton XC on Saturday & celebrating my mums birthday the last 2 days with the kids & rest of the family it's time to get back to it this afternoon 💪
