Last Sunday, we had a team outing with two juniors and two adults competing.
First up, we had A***n, one of our youngest martial artists competing in K-1. Although he lost in his fight, it was his first step up from interclubs and he did very well. His opponent was slightly more physical and that made the difference and it finished just 5 seconds from the end of Round 3. Ultimately very happy with how he turned up, worked hard and tried to do everything we asked.
Next up, Seb! Seb had a hard match last time out and wanted to prove he could win, he came out and stuck to our plan of attacking the leg the. Exiting and moving off. He landed some solid calf kicks and inside/outside leg kicks to take a well deserved win!
Then we had our adults.
Ben stepped in against Jack in what was a furious round. Ben the more technical fighter and works well with movement and space and Jack who thrives in chaos and has really sharp technique in that chaos. We knew that it was imperative to impose our strengths in this one and not get into that up close war. Jack ultimately imposed his pressure and after a crazy battle, landed a sharp knee cracking Bens ribs! One to learn from for Ben but well done to Jack. They both really tried to put on a show. Ben will be back and better in the future.
Lastly, we had Charlie as Co main event! Warmed up, ready to fight and looking calm, savage and ready! His opponent must have seen Charlie warming up because he had to run and be sick. Unfortunately the fight was cancelled! Charlies opponent couldn’t make the walk. Disappointing but we made the walk anyway and Charlie had his moment to address the crowd. Official decision: cancelled fight, unofficial decision: TKO via presence and intimidation. I hope his opponent keeps at it and comes back to fighting. Charlie will fight for that belt on the next Supreme.
Ultimately, I am very happy with my team and how they worked, conducted themselves and the passion they showed. Victory or defeat, on to the next one 🥋🥊
