Let the busy brain be given a holiday: connect to the ground and rest.

Releasing tension is found through the process of relaxing our body.

For most of us It’s not easy to stop doing what we do: rushing around, fixing things, making sure we fit into what others expect and coping with life in general.

There are layers and layers of tension in our body that has built up over years of lead if the life we have.

Learning to relax will give greater mobility to joints as they will stop being ‘held’. Discomfort can be replaced with softening and coping will be replaced with receiving.

Let the busy brain be given a holiday: connect to the ground and rest.

Moving from inside our body we can make a small space feel very wide and our body can be made to feel expansive and spacious.

Do we get through the day or do we receive the day? (Angela Farmer)

If we can find presence in our body we can meet any obstacle, occurrence and moment with strength and knowledge that we are who we are and it is enough.

Learning to receive is a lifelong process and a wonderful privilege.

Our feet were made to move

Waking up the feet is vital for joint mobility of ankles,knees, hips and the whole body as everything connects.

Rest on heels to lengthen ankles;
Tuck toes under to open the soles of the feet ( wrists can be lifted as well if able)
Tuck toes the opposite way to lengthen the front of the foot;
Lift the knees to increase length;
Do what you can!

Why wake up your feet ?

Studies show that walking barefoot lowers blood pressure and increases feelings of wellbeing. The more awake our feet are the more connection and awareness we can have with the earth.
Be attentive to sensation in your feet - if it is the first time you have practiced like this, or have arthritis or a complaint, listen to your feet. They will tell you how far you can go but doing something is better than nothing.
