My Weapon > My Kit > My Self. Thats the order of priority we’re taught in the Military.

Service your Weapon first - because it keeps you Alive

Service your Kit second - because it keeps you Alive

Service your Self last

Thats all well and good in the Military and is definitely the correct order of priority in Combat but not in normal Life!

In normal Life you HAVE TO look after yourself first! Not in a selfish way, but in a responsible way.

Think of it like this: in order to Help others, serve others or just be there for others you need to be at your Best.

That mean working on Yourself daily and as a priority.

Your Mind state, your Physical well being and your Environment.

Prioritise those 3 things and trust me, you’ll be alot better at everything else and you’ll most likely get alot more enjoyment out of your days 💯

2 Life Lessons I learned Fighting 6 Rounds in 1 Night.

9 years ago today I had the opportunity to Compete in the Cage Contender 8 Man Tournament.

A knockout style Tournament over one Night.

I won the first Fight by Decision in a pretty Wrestling heavy Fight.

I’d gone into the Fight knowing I had a bad back & could’ve probably employed better strategy to save it from further injury…. But I didn’t!

After the Fight i was in absolute agony to the point my Brother had to literally jump up and down on my back to loosen it up!!

Going into Fight 2 it was that stiff that i felt like a static target on the Feet.

I got a Takedown with 30 (ish) sec’s left and dived on a Heel Hook getting the Tap at 4:59 of the 1st Rnd! 1 Second left! (Lesson 1)

Same drill occurred between Fights 2 & 3 with Mike jumping all over my back but for some reason, all of a sudden it felt miles better…….. 🤔(Lesson 2)

Fight 3 went my way by Decision and thats the end of the Tourney.

Lesson 1 is pretty simple: All you’ve got to do in Life is keep Fighting 1 Second longer than the other guy!!

I’ve had 2 stoppages in my Career at 4:59 of the 1st Round, neither were due to me being particularly great at anything, both were due in my opinion to my opponents being happy to ride the clock out - I just Fought for one second longer than they did!

Lesson 2: Don’t listen to your own Bu****it, just get the job done!!

Funny how all of a sudden when i only had 1 Fight left my back felt 100 times better!!!

Maybe i was bu****itting myself an excuse for if i lost?

Maybe the thought of 3 or 2 more Fights felt overawing… but 1 Fight? I knew i had that!

If i’d of listened to my own bu****it i would’ve prob pulled after the 1st Fight.

Lucky I had my Brother to keep me on track and see through my bu****it eh!!

Keep Fighting, don’t listen to your own Bu****it! Pretty simple but it took me 6 Rounds to understand it!

The Commando Dagger is legendary symbol of the Royal Marines. It’s sole purpose is as a Fighting Knife issued to Marines for obvious reasons.

I gave mine to at the end of his Tour as a memento as his time working with us but mainly as a Thankyou for all the selfless work he and Sally did keeping us safe from IED’s.

Life is about experiences and the people you share them with.
