In November this year, we will be honoured to accept the Soke of the independent Meifu Shinkage Ryu, two seminars are scheduled and Sensei will be teaching the various weapons of the School, including Shuriken ( Boshiriken) and the short stick, Hanbo. This is what the NJJKR had already planned for the rest of 2026. Hopefully next year we will be able to offer more, including things like defensive flashlight training, more taihojutsu and martial arts related first aid, all of which is a work in progress.

Though not directly martial arts related, in November, The Manchester Origami society will be holding a special introductory session in this Japanese paper folding art which is open to all, and will be taught by a genuine Japanese practitioner. His session is entitled “samurai origami” and it promises to be fun, friendly and fascinating. A great introduction to origami. Tickets should be purchased via the event link below. The cost of these tickets is to help Sensei Yasuyuki fund his trip to the Manchester area in what will be his first UK trip following the restrictions imposed as a result of the “Covid pandemic “
